I watched Viva Las Vegas on HBO Max. It’s pretty funny. It’s only funny, because it’s ridiculous. It would be great in the film logic thread. He and his friend technically went up and down the Vegas strip, and bought tickets to every show, looking for Ann Margaret, just to walk in, look at the girls who happened to be on stage at the time, and not see her, then walked out, went to the next casino, bought more tickets, and do the same thing over and over all night.

:heh:

thought the flick was decent, they did show what he was ''inspired'' by quite clearly

they cant really show all aspects of someone's life in a couple of hours, even more so a controversial superstar in the 60s. some of y'all still judge things that happened almost 70 !!! years ago through 2022 lens, the world is much different and music had an undeniable contribution to this change. don't believe it was his intention in any way, he just wanted to be successful, but opening white peoples ears to black music and possibly culture was a step towards some kind of acceptance in an otherwise disgusting environment

don't get it twisted, a lot of the money your favorite rapper made come from the less melanin inclined broskis, it is what it is...
