My take. The movie maker clearly had an agenda to paint Elvis as a non-racist. It's countless scenes where he's with black artists, him admitting he was not the King, etc. 2ndly, the main issue with this movie was the 2nd half. I think the dude who played Elvis did a good job painting him as a rebel in his early years. However, the transition of when he became a fat drug addict and cheater was not good. I didn't buy it at all. He didn't even know how tap into that dark side of Elvis.
I'll use the complete opposite: example: Denzel and Malcolm X. Denzel knew how to tap into Malcolm Little and then Malcolm X. This dude didn't know to do old Elvis.
