It was pretty cool. Greatly directed. The constant dramatic zooms, the colors, the slowmo, the abundant editing made the entire thing very dynamic and entertaining to watch.

They went to great lengths to acknowledge how much Black culture influenced him, the privilege at the root of his success and how he became himself an incarnation of racial controversy.

All I knew about Elvis going in was the symbol of the artist that fell off that cartoon/sitcoms pushed, that he reputedly "stole" what made his success from Black artists and that he was a rock'n'roll heartthrob and one of the first huge showmen. And the epic rap battle of history about him.

Cast was fantastic imo. The dude they chose for him was perfect and I was surprised by how good his acting was, but all the other actors were amazing too. The Black performers all killed it, especially the guy with make up in the bar.

Cool flick.

Denzel vouched for him, and got him the audition, and he killed it. They did a play together. So basically, Denzel put him on.

very high quality production....the set, the cinematography and the vfx in this movie is off the charts. The story however is very poorly told....very rushed and confusing. once we in 58 and next second we in 68. They white wash the hell out of Elvis in this movie too.....they made dude seem like an innoncent southern boy who died for his love for YOU! dude was out here with a 13 year old and this movie never adresses that....he is white R.Kelly if we keeping it real.

They never want to tell the truth about their heroes, but when it comes to black figures they want to tell all the dirt.....MLK was rumored...RUMORED! to cheat on his wife and people out here accepting it as fact due to the movie they made about him....they even made a fake confrontation scene, when Coretta said she felt he was loyal forever.

Tom Hanks and Austin Butler did their thing though in this movie.

I haven't seen the movie but what are the bad/corrupt things Elvis did that the movie did not cover?
