I guess we can assume that transexuals have been around forever - But you're saying Transgenders have been around forever. You're either doing one of two things: Being confused about the difference.... or making a baseless assumption.
At our core nature and beginning of our species - it wouldn't even make since for so-called transgenders to even exist until modern times. We really don't see this in Africa and Asian for millions of years and most of recorded human history then randomly out of no where EMperor Elagabalus wants someone to cut his penis off and make him a girl --- I guess he was progressive.

Jamaica is what it is. How are the wrong? That is the cultural norms there. Their society isn't so great so why would they not frown upon things that don't advance them in anyway.

The Islam thing is due to Muhammad chilling with men who got castrated and dressed and acted like women in the Hadith and also several major schools of Islamic thought and jurisprudence that recognize transgenderism and believe that a man who feels like a woman inside should be a considered a woman if he gets surgery.

Anyway there are hadiths and things in the Quran to address this - but for the most part if a person is born with two sexual parts then that's ok.... they are pushed towards whatever sex they feel is right and asked to get surgery. and that's the main issue with this story. The boy can decided to be a girl later on if he wants, but putting him in a dress and not having any control over anything knowing that they were forced to have the 'two mommies' convo with him is fukked up.
I'm not saying he was a liberal, only that there are Islamic traditions that believe that men can be born who are women "inside" and that these people should be accepted as women if they change their bodies. Islam is the only major religion that did that, actually.

The Bible is a good starting point for kids, not for religious indoctrination, but because there are a lot of good stories and expressions of speech that were once common knowledge but that have been lost with time because of biblical illiteracy.
