Man, I legit dk if I want this :patrice: Eddie bombing a set would hurt :wow: I really hope he still got it if he does do it. I’d buy tix for sure tho

All comedian's bomb or will at some point. Ed knows that, that's why he said he has to hit the clubs again to sharpen his material. He'll give himself a better chance cutting out what will definitely not work first instead of just jumping into a standup special. The question is does Ed still have the hunger to do the club circuit? Cats like Chappelle, Rock and etc never stopped doing clubs/standup when they made it, that's why they can interchange with no problem.

Eddie Murphy, Netflix close to $70M deal for standup comeback: report

Eddie Murphy is gearing up to get raw again.
The reclusive comedy legend, 58, hasn’t been on the standup stage in years, but he’s reportedly in talks with Netflix for a series of comedy specials, sources close to Murphy tell TMZ.
The streaming giant’s big lure: a whopping $70 million paycheck.
TMZ admits they’ve been “unable to firmly confirm the exact figure” at this point, but that dollar amount is certainly in line with what headliners of the “Beverly Hills Cop” legend’s caliber can demand from the streaming giant.
Dave Chappelle raked in $20 million for each of his three award-winning specials, Chris Rock banked $40 million for his two-show package and Amy Schumer reportedly asked for — and received — more than $11 million for her last Netflix showcase.
Let us not forget that the former “Saturday Night Live” star — and Oscar nominee for “Dreamgirls” — actually helped pioneer this game. His acclaimed live specials “Eddie Murphy: Delirious” and “Eddie Murphy: Raw” paved the way for this format back when Chappelle and Rock were starring in B movies.

The prolific baby-maker has been teasing a return to the live stage for some time, and even dropped some hints during his recent surprise appearance on Jerry Seinfeld’s “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.”
“You know that you not doing stand-up drives people crazy — you know that, right?” Seinfeld, 65, asked “The Nutty Professor” star.
Murphy admitted that standup icon Don Rickles also asked him to step back up to the mic before his death in 2017.
“I’m going to do it again,” Murphy told Seinfeld. “Everything just has to be right. You have to get up there and start working out. Still gotta go to the comedy club.”
Netflix representatives tell The Post they don’t comment on the financial details of its contract negotiations

Not sure if anyone watched the episode, it was pretty dope, but towards the end he talks about his relationships with Richard Pryor and Cosby.

Said his relationship with Pryor was weird, said when he broke, the town still kinda had this "one black guy at a time" thing, so when he would show up, Pryor saw him as a threat, as if a forced passing of the torch was happening. He said if he found out Richard was doing a show, he'd go to see him, Richard would ask who was out there, they would tell him Eddie's here and he would leave. Eddie said he just wanted to be on his fanboy shyt, said he didn't find out about it until way after the fact.

Said Cosby felt threatened by him as the new guy. Seinfeld talks about how he found it funny that Cosby felt he had the power to tell Eddie to work he wanted him to work. Eddie said it was just ego. Eddie said Cosby only did that with him, other comics had these great stories about Bill giving them good advice, but that Cosby just said mean shyt. Said Cosby would call him criticizing him saying shyt that would have him:picard:

The episode was great. The riff that he did about Sammy Davis “cocaine jaw” shows he still has it.

Chappelle, Chris Rock and Kevin Hart said they had dinner with Murphy and a bunch of black comedians and Eddie Murphy was the funniest dude out of the group.

I’ll take their word that homie can still do it.

As mentioned before, he's been saying this shyt for 20 years
So wake me up when he does it :snooze:
But he still has the gift. Google "my raps will destroy you"
Even with that gift, stand up comedy is a sport and a science and as long as he's aware that he needs to work out first, I feel okay about it
But again, not holding my breath

If he'll leave SNL hanging on their 40th he's never doing another set.
He had beef with SNL
And they wanted him to shyt on Cos when he did agree to come back
He refused
fukk Lorne Michaels, though
Eddie came in under dikk Ebersole, when Lorne had bounced for a minute.
Eddie single handedly saved SNL from getting canceled. It wasn't Tim Kazurinsky or fukking Joe Piscopo
Lorne has never given Eddie the props he deserves
When they had David Spade dis him on the show in the 90's, that was the ultimate disrespect
They would never do that shyt to Belushi, Murray, Aykroyd or even Chris Farley

I saw it. Money dont mean shyt to Ed at this point. He's not motivated by it.
I think the reason why there's going to be a Coming To America sequel or him bringing this standup thing up is as he's facing 60 is legacy.
That last round of bullshyt movies he was in cant be how he want to bow tie his career.

:russ:

You know Satan is as powerful as God:mjlit:

This dude was wild as fukk

Sammy Devil Jr.

There’s no better example of this than Sammy’s dabblings in Satanism. Christian by birth, Jewish by choice, Sammy started his personal relationship with Satan during a 1968 visit to the Factory, a nightclub he partially owned. He was invited to a party by a group of young actors sporting red fingernails, signifying their allegiance to the Church of Satan. Founded in 1966 by Anton LaVey, a horror fan with a background in carnival work, ghostbusting, and nightclub organ, the San Francisco-based ministry combined LaVey’s interests in ancient paganism, a media-savvy flair for publicity, and a philosophy of indulgence over abstinence.

When Sammy arrived at the party (whose theme he summarized as “dungeons and dragons and debauchery”), all attendees were wearing hoods or masks. The centerpiece of the “coven” was a naked woman chained spread-eagle on a red-velvet-covered alter. Davis was confident though that human sacrifice was not on the menu that evening. “That chick was happy,” he wrote, “and wasn’t really going to get anything sharper than a dildo stuck in her.”
