You guys are just letting nostalgia blind you to the fact that all comedians have a prime. Just like athletes. People eventually get used to your schitke and it's no longer as fresh and funny. Some age faster than others i'll give you that, any comedy from Jim Carrey these days is weed plate status entirely. Eddie might be able to put on an ok show, but he'll never be Delirious Eddie again.

Poster above said comedy is ageless, :mjlol: Watch The Steve Martin episode of comedians in cars getting coffee. He explains it perfectly why he no longer does standup.

Depends on the person don rickles performed until he died and he was funny as fukk.
And I am sure he can make a room full of people laugh not a concert hall. He is not at that level yet

I gotta admit Don Rickles is a very good exception to the rule. but i think part of what helped him is most people were never over exposed to him. Alot of older people i know, know who he is, but don't remember any particular standup albums.
Eddie and people like Chris Rock have big sets that made millions and have been seen multiple times by millions of people. Bigger and Blacker etc
You can't name a Don Rickles album, and being limited in your exposure can help with longevity. Rodney Dangerfield was able to do it late into old age because he didn't really break out until he was like 50 already.

Eddie was really young when he broke out. If he really loves stand up he will come back. Also Cosby was great up until he went to jail.
Bad legacy but he was an amazing stand up.

He's been saying he'll do stand up again for probably 15 years. I'll believe it when I see it.

He's a naturally funny guy, but I have no idea what he'd be talking about in 2019. He hasn't put together a stand up act in 30 years, he'd have to totally reinvent what he does. I don't know if a 60 year old man is really going to come out with something relevant and interesting after so long. If it happens it will be interesting to see.

Dudes CAN come back. One of the funniest specials I ever saw was Sinbads show after he was "retired" but ran into tax problems. Breh came out of nowhere and wrecked the whole auditorium.

Problem with Eddie is he turned his nose up to standup a long time ago. He's spent too much time chasing acting awards. I don't think he'd have the humility to put in the work to create a good show. Chapelle hit the streets and skilled back up, no way Eddie's playing small comedy clubs to work on his material.

It's been too long, he'd be trash now. Seen it before. Comedians try to come back after a long hiatus, get on stage making outdated references about shyt they never got to talk about years ago.

Eddie would probably get on stage and be like, Whatever happened to payphones? everybody gotta cell phone now, even my momma :ooh:.

Comedy equivalent of :flabbynsick:
Are you serious? Eddie is just naturally funny and when he does interviews you can see that he still has it.
