I don't know, I'm not from oakland I probably been passed it and didn't realize it

I googled, I see a normal street with liter every where, just like in front of a lot of streets over there, if you lazy ass nikkaz picked up the trash the streets would look clean

None of that shyt over there is distressed, I was being paid by a real estate company to find distress properties in East Oakland and they barely exists, and if they do they are next to some shyt that has been restored

Thanks for proven my pointm you got some area of the city separated by some train tracks which is close to nice shyt, and you think the entire city is hood

they already turning it around

This is not a problem just in Oakland or any other place in US. It's the same problem in majority of the countries.

While most of the people right now are minimizing the contact with strangers and try to stay indoors for as much as they can, meanwhile there are some who think that "others will take care of this problem, I'll be living my life like usual". Whether its doing donuts in Oakland or bunch of soccer fans in europe chanting and hugging each other before they finally shut down all the sports events.

This is why if the strict eastern Asia managed to handle the virus in two months, the shyt in western world will take longer than that. Economy is going to shyt with every month that goes by.

100, and not only at its peak. South Central is still significantly blacker than Oakland today, this is after decades of racial transformation and bleeding black population in South Central...

Cats on another site tried to use Oakland's culture as a reason its blacker than LA, and I had to call bullshyt. What kind of culture? LA's black music history is deeper, longer and stronger; LA's black history in the arts and creative passions like fashion has always been renown; LA has produced more black musicians, athletes, literary artists (writers and poets), comedians, and any other kind of entertainers; LA's automobile culture is deeper and more well known; black LA has produced more mainstream politicians and at the very least an equal amount of political movement birthed by its black citizens....

I literally can't think of one thing Black Oakland/Black Bay Area is more esteemed at than Black LA. Anti-LA cats take this offensively, but they shouldn't---->LA is a Top 10 city in the entire world. Its size and stature and reputation naturally lends to it doing shyt on a bigger level than most places, and the black experience and culture fall within that. It just is what it is...

Oakland is still and will always be the heartbeat of Black Northern California, and has a legacy that can be compared to various places around the country. It was never on par with Los Angeles though, cats just gotta stop with the homer shyt...

You from The City (LA)?
Doesn't the bold make sense though? You said "LA is the black capital of the west" but then specified South Central, finally saying that people mistakenly compare LA to Oakland. So is LA the capital or is South Central? You are making a clear distinction between the two... which also means you need to make a clear distinction between their merit and history.

Just so I am clear, you are comparing Oakland to South Central? And you are using mostly (if not solely) total residents and/or the percentage of black residents as your basis?

I also left the other lines in there because as far as I understand, South Central is predominantly Hispanic.

I have many questions about your post but lets just start there and get clarification. I'm not interested in debate though because I don't know or even really care what is deemed as the black capital of the west. But I am interested in understanding your stance a bit better.
so we got SoCal vs Norcal in this bytch now huh?

let the games begin:wow:

I won't claim to know blocks in either like that. I'm going off of the few times I been in both, never felt no discernible difference...

Disagree. Only Oaklanders and Bay Areans think of Oakland as the black capital of the West....

LA was always the black capital of the West, and always will be unless its population evaporates the way it currently is in The Bay. People hear me say that and think I'm saying Oakland doesn't have an appreciable black legacy----->not what I'm saying. At all...

South Central LA was always blacker than Oakland, and people make the mistake of comparing the entire city of LA to Oakland, despite LA being 10x the size of Oakland. That argument is designed to make Oakland look better. South Central is geographically smaller than Oakland but twice as large in population with ~2.25x the black people. That's today. It's always been a stark contrast...

Add in the peripheral cities that contribute to the black culture of both (Hayward, Berkeley, etc; Compton, Carson, etc), the cities surrounding LA have ALWAYS been significantly blacker than the cities surrounding Oakland...

People don't know LA so they erroneously say Oakland is blacker, and it was never true at any point in time...

And Mexicans and whites are reported as having passed Oakland's black population in 2012. That obviously wasn't a long time ago, but it wasn't exactly yesterday either, those communities have been there....

Asians will surpass blacks in Oakland by around 2027, if not sooner....

:mjlol:Fax! Realist shyt I done heard you say.

:mjlol:Because you gay area lames can't accept that yaw suburban.

Thank you.

They don’t really understand how LARGE Black LA was at its peak.

That’s why I just laugh at most of the ridiculous shyt folks in here say about LA.
