He could do. But at PG, instead of Rose. Explain to me why it would be more beneficial to the Cavs to have Wade starting over JR?wade will be starting
because hes a better playerHe could do. But at PG, instead of Rose. Explain to me why it would be more beneficial to the Cavs to have Wade starting over JR?
This should be obvious to anyone who watches the game, but idiots on this board can't see that.Floor spacing
we shall see
That's not how it works.
So u have more players on the second squad that knows the plays flawlesslyHe could do. But at PG, instead of Rose. Explain to me why it would be more beneficial to the Cavs to have Wade starting over JR?
I don't doubt the possibility of that, but he's not going to be tasked with chasing players around screens, shadowing the off-guard and dealing with an extended defensive load like JR will. Which is what it really all comes back to. Yes, less of an offensive load will allow him to balance out his effort more evenly, and prolong whatever little time he has left, however, you're severely neglecting the dropoff in his play last season. He looked notably slower, it took him longer to get his shot off, he took shortcuts on the defensive end. It wasn't because he didn't give a fukk. You sound like someone that didn't bother watching him play last season. Not getting along with some of the players on the team had nothing to do with his performance -He didn't give a fukk he played on a treadmill team and didn't get along with the young players. Him not getting back in transition and allowing cuts is pure laziness and lack of desire.
D-Wade still got physical tools and instincts, if the effort is there, he will be able to impact the game defensively. His offensive burden will be the smallest it's been in his career which should lead to a more rested D-Wade.
We gon see that's all I got to say
Look, I've been one of the most vocal posters defending Wade when dudes were trying to send him to the Larry Holmes Gardens prematurely over the years. But that changed last season because I could see it in his play that he no longer had it. Make no mistake about it, he cared - it's just that his body didn't.Wade: “Everyone don't care enough. You got to care enough, man. It's got to mean that much to you to want to win. And it doesn't. … I don't know how you fix it. It just doesn't mean enough to guys around here to want to win ballgames. It [ticks] me off, but I can't be frustrated and I can't care too much for these guys.”
“These games are supposed to hurt. I don't know if that is in guys in this locker room. Hopefully they can prove me wrong, but I will challenge them to see if losses like this hurt. … We can play bad, we can miss shots, but we're having too many of these lapses. We're having too many of these losses. This just can't be acceptable if you want to do something besides have an NBA jersey on and make some money. That's all we're doing around here."
And this, from Wade, capping the message of evening: “I can look at Jimmy and say Jimmy's doing his job. Jimmy can look at me and say Dwyane's doing his job. I don't know if we can keep going down the line and be able to say that."

No.So u have more players on the second squad that knows the plays flawlessly
Makes the transition and gelling faster
Stop it.....Gil you post a lot .....that doesn't mean u know a lotYou've been wrong in almost every single post in this thread. How is that possible.....
If u think spacing is the only reason u move a guy like JR to the benchNo.
Try again.
A lot of things.
I misspoke about ....
This is what I said -you and your alternative facts comedic. You think JR smith is an upgrade to D Wade....that in and of itself should ban you from basketball forums.....cut the shyt
JR's skillset is more beneficial to the Cavs starting lineup because he can stretch the floor, and is a more abled-defender. Having Rose and Wade (who're essentially the same player, for the 100th time) in the backcourt together shrinks the floor space, limits what they can do offensively/defensively and the team's 3-pt production would fall off a cliff. It's all about having a balance in the lineups you put out there, and the Cavs would have a better balanced lineup with JR starting over Wade. The coli dot com where we take everything out of context and reference the box score with no...... context.
As a standalone - Wade is a better player than JR, but he's not an "upgrade" over JR for the Cavs - they're basically on the same level for the simple fact(s) that despite Wade's scoring ability/production as a #1/#2 option he's not going to be that for the Cavs (it's meaningless referencing how many PPG he had last season, he's not going to average anywhere near that this season due to decline and role), he's not going to provide the floor spacing that JR does, he's not going to provide the shooting the JR does, and he's not going to provide the sporadic defense that JR does - all the things that this Cleveland team needs.
Basically, all the things that Wade has over JR (ability to create his own shot and playmaking) will be offset by what he concedes to him (floor spacing/shooting and defense).
No.If u think spacing is the only reason u move a guy like JR to the bench
U move him for leadership.. he is known to carry a bench..
U move him to keep the flow going.. he knows all the plays and will execute which in turn helps the other on the court since the coach is only close to the players one side of the court.
U move him for scoring, u move him for defense since rose won't play good defense..u need players that will take loads..
Basically u move him if it is tactically the right thing to do...if it fails..u bring him back.
