That's the heart of the issue, though. These movies didn't really start making crazy money until The Rock showed up in Five. That complicates the argument of who made who. Sure, The Rock's biggest hits didn't happen until after that, but at least he has them. Vin Diesel's attempts to do literally anything other than Fast and Furious have all flopped. So, both sides have validity, but it seems pretty clear that the industry sees The Rock's version of events as more valid than Diesel's.
But they were already trending up before he joined. He joined on the movie when they had the entire cast there for the first time. That was more exciting than the rock being in it. The Rock ain't have the juice like that back then. shyt he don't really got it now. His solos still lightweight flopping.

I thought you nikkas hated The Rock?:skip:

Doesn't this give an opportunity for Batista aka "should have won an Oscar for 5 minutes of Blade Runner 2049" to take the Fast & Furiuos franchise to never before seen heights?:pachaha:

Love The Rock, hate Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson:martin:
Good riddance,he is easily replaceable in the franchise. Told yall they wasn't about to let go of a fan favorite like Tyrese for The Rock.

Jungle Cruise was on streaming day 1.

Yeah, you really can't compare Jungle Cruise to F9 at all, since they had different release strategies. And even then, you really can't stack one against the other because F9 really managed to get a perfect release by being the first movie to come out when we thought shyt was sweet with the pandemic. Jungle Cruise came out right about when it started looking shaky again.
