I wouldn't even want to share a fountain with people that hate me that much, on the contrary, I would have tried to find a water cooler and filter to attach to all the black fountains to spite them. then put the word coloured only in ultra bold and black font with a black fist next to it, might even paint the water fountain black too.

That last woman looks relatively young. How late did colored/ white water fountains persist in Texas? :mjtf:
Depends on where she grew up. If it was a major city, probably 1964-1965. Towns,/communities outside those cities still had them up until about 1970.

Does she look that old to you tho? I guess we'd have to know when the interview was done.
Purely my subjective opinion, but she looks mid/late-50's and depending on where she grew-up, it's entirely plausible she'd seen those signs as a little kid.

Lol, I just hope one day you guys will understand the difference between ethnicity and modern nationalities. If you think that people like Yalitza Aparicio were being treated better or as "honorary white", then you are all mentally ill.

Most of you look at history with emotionalism, not with context and facts.

Mexico has a huge white population, the so called whitexicans, that basically dominate every main economic sector in the country. And during Jim Crow era, Mexico was one of the wealthiest nations on earth by GDP Per Capita. It was richer than Japan, South Korea, Spain etc. At the time, most Mexicans going to the US were white. Not brown, but white.

The same happened with every Central and South American region. The elites were and are white. The "Cubans" that left the country in droves once Castro got in power, and settled in the US, were WHITE.

This is the reality all over Central and South America. Pablo Escobar was white. Pinochet was white...They were never really seen as POC by the people in power. Powerless people are the ones that always tried to relate to them.

The Asians got put in concentration camps and the Mexicans got half their country stolen by the US. :unimpressed:

Good drop, I recall seeing a PBS doc on that that history. I think it was only Japanese ppl, not all Asians.

Mexicans done darn near reclaimed the south western states and Cali!

Japanese internment camps were established during World War II by President Franklin D. Roosevelt through his Executive Order 9066. From 1942 to 1945, it was the policy of the U.S. government that people of Japanese descent, including U.S. citizens, would be incarcerated in isolated camps.
