Sparking blunts in the shade.
I was trying to go the free form route, but I couldn't take looking super crazy anymore. I've started wool rubbing.

I'll never be able to say "this is just how it grew":mjcry:

I want the freeform but I cant take that middle phase before you get hangtime. I would just tough it out but thats like 2 years worth of growth. Im not looking like a crackhead for 2 years.

I want something like this:

but deep black and pulled back.

but to think I have to go through like 3 years of this:

Im trying to grow my afro as long as I can while packing it down see how close I can get to hangtime length then make a decision:yeshrug:

I wouldn't have minded the second look for awhile, at least people would have know I was growing dreadlocks. I was walking around looking like this.

Now I'm rocking something like this.

Iocs :blessed:. Ain't nothing like having long locs. Only beef is when I sleep them shyts go everywhere. They tickle my back all the time, feels like a spiders on me. Gotta pull em back when I'm eating. Cacs ask to touch em too much, shyts extra creepy. Also salons are a rip off. Never use wax. Don't listen to cacs wash them shyts! All bytches love em. Enjoy every stage cause when they get real long you'll miss having shorter locs for some reason.

Deep in the south kickin uptop game
I've had mine for about 4.5 years

I decided to grow mine because I got tired of the of the "clean cut/clean shaven safe negro" stereotype. The way I see it I am actively banging on the notion that a black man with long dreads and a big beard can't manage a company, conduct a business meeting, etc, like a clean cut/clean shaven black man.

So I stopped wool rubbing after a couple of weeks, and just started free forming again, only to find out it's trendy now. Everyone from The Weeknd, to fukking Fredo in the cut is rocking my style.:snoop:

I'm still in this until I have the Marley's going down my back though.

I've been free form growing my hair for about 2 years. It took so long to lock because my hair texture is different on all sides... My shyt is crazy but i can visualize it and I feel positive about its future...
