Drake is Drake. I don't ever remember anyone saying he's some type of top echelon MC. What he is, is very successful and hugely popular. But not just in Hip Hop, but in music period. That's why this isn't gonna hurt him. Chicks don't care about who wrote what hook or whatever. There are people's parents who buy Drake records. So I get why people don't dig him. He's kinda bigger than Rap, at this point. He's a personality too. So whether we like it or not, the rules don't apply to everyone. Drake, Kanye, Puff, Dre, etc. They get passes because they're seen more for who they are, rather than what they're actually contributing to their own shyt. Sometimes the name is bigger than the actual product. Drake's gotten himself to that point. So all this won't change anything for him. Is it fair? Nah, but it's the truth.

His best work, first two albums, were written for the most part, by other lesser known MC's. We let it ride, because it was Kanye. We didn't see him as some elite MC. But honestly, Marley Marl wrote hooks for Kane. Swizz, Timbaland and Omillio Sparks wrote hooks for Hov. Trackmasters wrote hooks for Nas. These are actual Top 10 MC's, and they got help. That's what music is. You bring people in to help or to catch vibes from. The very best to ever do it, have done this. So if someone like Drake does it, it shouldn't be seen any differently just because he's wildly successful. We don't like to admit this, but this has been going on forever, but without people being credited. Dude is giving people their credit for helping. A lot of the greats didn't say shyt about getting help. Haha. And we would've never known, if the people didn't come out and say something.

Like I said, I get that people don't like the dude. I'm not really into his music either. But he's not doing anything that basically everyone's done in Hip Hop. Since basically day one. If he didn't credit QM, I'd have an issue with it. But credibility takes a hit, usually when someone is frontin' and not being honest. He's listing his contributors.
