Chuck D spoke on Drake awhile back.

And he said he's "a kid who makes great music. You can't deny that. You see why he's successful. But I don't see him as one of Hip Hop's best MC's" I've always agreed with that. He raps, he sings, he's written for other people, both MC's and R&B artists. I don't see how his credibility is at stake when he's never been a grassroots MC in the first place. He never was. This isn't a Kool G Rap, Redman, Black Thought or Common type of MC. There aren't many people who aren't getting help with hooks. That's been the norm forever. Dude credited QM as a writer. It's not some hidden shyt. He brings people in to help, that's always been known.

Drake is Drake. I don't ever remember anyone saying he's some type of top echelon MC. What he is, is very successful and hugely popular. But not just in Hip Hop, but in music period. That's why this isn't gonna hurt him. Chicks don't care about who wrote what hook or whatever. There are people's parents who buy Drake records. So I get why people don't dig him. He's kinda bigger than Rap, at this point. He's a personality too. So whether we like it or not, the rules don't apply to everyone. Drake, Kanye, Puff, Dre, etc. They get passes because they're seen more for who they are, rather than what they're actually contributing to their own shyt. Sometimes the name is bigger than the actual product. Drake's gotten himself to that point. So all this won't change anything for him. Is it fair? Nah, but it's the truth.

why you fighting so hard for Drake tho? I dont even get it.

That's what I don't understand. Most of the stuff dude posted prior to Drake being outed would suggest that he would be against Drake being a fraud also. But he's going extra hard for Drake. Kinda funny.

You see, you have to understand this though...the MAN HIMSELF was claiming he was a top echelon MC. It wasn't mainly his fans or other MCs. He was the one doing that.

aye, thought we was cool but Neg for the subs.

First off

1. Still not proven whether or not Drake has a ghostwriter for his shyt. That reference track is the only thing yall holding on to
2. All Meek has done is tweet. Drake dropped bars. Meek started it online and hasn't done anything since. Looks like a bytch to me and everyone defending me looks like a bytch
3. Funk Flex baited everyone to watch his lame show and now looking like the biggest clown with nikkas everywhere questioning whether he should keep his job
4. Drake, the ones you hate on, was the only one not to remain a fukkin keyboard warrior and actually do something hip hop

When will y'all realize this is NOT about flex or meek?

That "ten bands" is all it takes to expose him as a FRAUD. That was a VIOLATION breh.

Y'all keep supporting pop frauds

Hip-Hop been dead anyway.

Y'all Nikkas is pop fans :scust:

You're obviously a reasonable breh who understand that though.

These Drake stans are bad because they simply don't care. They're willing to continue to call him hip hop and don't even acknowledge he committed a cardinal sin.

If they all were on the same page, this thread, and all these posts shytting on them, wouldn't exist.

Which rapper doesn't? Crunchy Black has verses saying he's the best. LOL!!!

You're supposed to. That's what being an MC is, saying you're the best. Kanye ran around saying he was the best, while his biggest songs were written by dudes he grew up with. The whole songs! Not hooks. But the verses. But we still supported him because he had dope beats. He was still making classic shyt. His best work, first two albums, were written for the most part, by other lesser known MC's. We let it ride, because it was Kanye. We didn't see him as some elite MC. That's how it goes when the name is bigger than the art. It's been that way forever. Drake is no exception.

Wells, I know every rapper does it. Most rappers think they're the greatest and yea, they're supposed to. It's been part of the game since forever. But you better be able to write your sh!t if you're going around claiming that you're the sh!t, rap wise. And nobody I know personally EVER looked at Kanye as some top tier MC. Especially after most dudes found out he had whole tracks ghostwritten for him. I like most his music but that whole Jesus Walks/Rhymefest thing finished him in my eyes, as a credible MC. He's just an artist/brand now NOT a credible MC.

But honestly, Marley Marl wrote hooks for Kane. Swizz, Timbaland and Omillio Sparks wrote hooks for Hov. Trackmasters wrote hooks for Nas. These are actual Top 10 MC's, and they got help. That's what music is. You bring people in to help or to catch vibes from. The very best to ever do it, have done this. So if someone like Drake does it, it shouldn't be seen any differently just because he's wildly successful. We don't like to admit this, but this has been going on forever, but without people being credited. Dude is giving people their credit for helping. A lot of the greats didn't say shyt about getting help. Haha. And we would've never known, if the people didn't come out and say something.

Like I said, I get that people don't like the dude. I'm not really into his music either. But he's not doing anything that basically everyone's done in Hip Hop. Since basically day one. If he didn't credit QM, I'd have an issue with it. But credibility takes a hit, usually when someone is frontin' and not being honest. He's listing his contributors. That's not exactly fraudulent.

All stans are retarded and wack. I've never understand why someone would do it unless they are getting paid. I have to say g-unit stans were the all time worst.

Pretty pointless calling them out... Not sure what you are trying to accomplish.
