Drake serves a purpose. So Far Gone raised the bar of where hip hop was going. To this very day, rappers are harmonizing, instead of rappity rapping. He allowed the genre to branch out of the box.

Tbh Mos Def opened the door for someone like Drake with all of the singing shyt and Lauryn before that. And you can tell from his early music it was shyt like that that influenced him the most.
