That narrative doesn’t make sense to me at all still to this day about Meet the grahams. There is no logical reason that everyone would listen to meet the grahams and not Family Matters especially since they basically dropped 40 minutes apart. It was Drake’s big response to the beef to date. How can you have two people in a beef yet the bigger artist in terms of popularity his response is the one that gets listened to the least at that moment? It’s the equivalent of Drake dropping back to back and no one listened because Kendrick dropped another song right after. It doesn’t add up without some level of manipulation.

The fact that most people haven’t realized what’s going especially with social media. It’s damn near turned into Drake TV with pages tracking and clocking his every move. Nothing positive for damn near 8 months. Every thing he does is negatively amplified throughout all the music social media pages and podcasters. Constantly repeating and rotating the same talking points. Rumors and opinions become fact without any clear research.

MTG was also outpacing FM in social metrics like number of comments, likes, views, etc. I remember being there the minute MTG dropped and there was already tons of generic comments with 20k upvotes within the first couple minutes of release.

shyt made no sense. No matter what you feel about what the better diss song was. One song was from a undoubtedly bigger artist with bigger reach, and had a whole video to accompany it. One song was also clearly the more entertaining listen and that shouldve resulted in more replayability than the other.

I finally read it. Is he saying the label played games with the battle in Kendricks favor to gain leverage in a renegotiation he was trying to do with them? If so that's dirty af. Also I do feel Kendrick used bots during the battle but the least botted song the whole battle was Not Like Us. That shyt was a legit hit record. Drake gonna have to get over that shyt. Meet The Grahams I 100% feel was botted tho.

I wouldn’t be shocked if every single one of the songs in the battle were botted to some extent. But the sheer IMPACT of both MTG and NLU is something you can’t bot. The culture chose both those songs as the killshot to the battle. Its not even debatable UNLESS UMG paid every single streamer or blogger to support Kendrick and fake all the reactions, breakdowns, talking points, etc. You simply CANNOT fake cultural impact.

Nobody’s botting this

Your opinion is not fact :mjlol:

This lawsuit basically says I was the Meek Mill of this beef and that shouldn't be possible because I'm more popular than Kendrick. You guys must have bought streams.

For a nikka that's constantly talking about no friends and how much hate he gets, he should know that NLU having the hit factor that Story of Adidon didn't have was gonna make the song do numbers amongst the haters. The hate we have for you made us run that record back so much that it probably felt like it has to be payola. But no we just don't like you bro. It's really that simple:manny:

You've completely removed all context surrounding the reaction to those disses.

Nobody had time to really process Family Matters when Meet the Grahams hit, with folks being caught unawares, thinking how the hell did Kendrick reply so soon and naturally they're going to gravitate towards listening to that because it's more of a surprise. It was the shock of responding so soon that got cats' attention; popularity has little to do with it.

It was a genius move because Kendrick didn't allow the public to consume and digest Family Matters before giving us something hot off the stove.

It's not subjective that one song is clearly produced to be more mainstream friendly than the other.
And one was designed to be shocking and go viral, sucking attention away from the other thing, which it did.

I’m going to say it again you can literally look at the threads here to see how everyone gravitated towards the MTG thread once it dropped. The family matters thread turned into a MTG thread.

It was Meet the Grahms dropping the same night as Family Matters that truly made this beef crossover into the mainstream virality and get people that don’t even listen to rap to go what’s going on over there.

Ak was damn smiling like a proud dad watching his only son that made it when he was telling ducktales about all the rappers being mad at Drake because Universal somehow allowed him an ownership stake in all of their publishing deals…

Now the truth is Drake ain’t never been nothing but another worker bee and now he’s mad his time as top dog was cut short because he couldn’t out-rap or out-strategize his opponent.

Dude BEGGED Kendrick to drop for two weeks and in that time had ZERO contingency plan for if the pulitzer prize winning lyricist just so happened to flame him? Pathetic.

As far as the first line....

You cats gotta be on hard drugs running with this dumb ass "Drake owns a percentage of EVERYTHING" theory.

UMG is a publicly traded company. Meaning, if Drake owned a % it would be public record. Not to mention the share holders would have to sign off on it.

This isn't something you can keep in your back pocket in case of a rap beef. This would've been covered by every media outlet on the planet, and the info would've been readily available even before that, because again, it's a publicly traded company.

EDIT:

And people keep quoting the Budden shyt as "proof" when #1 he said he's guessing and #2 half the shyt people are attributing to him, he never said. It was started by some random Drake fan on Twitter who said himself he had no proof, and was just theory crafting.

Fred.

Drake stans were saying he co-owned UMG back in April.

Now somehow he's anti-corporation and "fighting the machine" because he got taken advantage of.

No kind of logic or through line in the thought process. Just throwing sh*t at the wall to defend Drake. The sad part is most of these cats are middle aged grown men.

Fred.
