Kendrick’s whole angle during the beef was Drake not really being from the culture. Going the legal route and dropping a lawsuit over a song is a tone deaf and feeds into the narrative that Kendrick was pushing.
Bot like us wasn’t just a meme bruh

Drake stans have turned his L into something eternal. We will talk about this legendary and career defining L for decades.

The punchlines that are coming will be :ohlawd:
Career ending he says, as he put up the biggest numbers this year, following up the biggest grossing rap tour of all time :mjlol:

we need to make the distinction that people are streaming Drake's old sh*t, not his new sh*t.

Not really.

4 All The Dogs has become his 3rd fastest selling album behind Views and Scorpion.

And I see the sleight of hand with you saying top 25, instead of top 50. There's a lot more context there too which we both know you're willfully omitting.

Which part is me "rewriting history"?
We're enthusiasts. We are a niche when it comes to the entire population of people who consume music. Regular people aren't waiting around at 10PM ET on a Friday night for a diss song to drop, and then staying online for 45 minutes after that to be notified of a new Kendrick diss. And regular people aren't continuously spinning a Kendrick x Alchemist record at a rate where its rapidly outpacing a new Drake video in every metric from comments, likes to views. And not only that, but we saw FM get dislike bombed in real time. We're supposed to believe that was 100% human? C'mon fam

Every word of this.

shyt was brilliant.

I had just finished listening to Family Matter's thinking it was fire.

Then I'm like "wait Kendrick dropped? Again?" :damn:

It's amazing how Kendrick dropping after Family Matters means that in the eyes of the jury he won that round.

FM is objectively the best track of the entire beef from a pure rap POV and the song that dropped immediately after has a whole ass verse to a daughter that doesn't even exist. shyt like that would get clowned back in the day but now none of that matters, only that he dropped immediately after so he by default gets the win.

Take me back to the 90s man :francis:

All of that can be substantiated if you go back to those old threads.

Kendrick stans were gloating at the MTG outperforming FM in YouTube stats that night.

You've completely removed all context surrounding the reaction to those disses.

Nobody had time to really process Family Matters when Meet the Grahams hit, with folks being caught unawares, thinking how the hell did Kendrick reply so soon and naturally they're going to gravitate towards listening to that because it's more of a surprise. It was the shock of responding so soon that got cats' attention; popularity has little to do with it.

It was a genius move because Kendrick didn't allow the public to consume and digest Family Matters before giving us something hot off the stove.

Also gotta keep in mind that people re-listen to songs they like :heh: I maybe listened to Family Matters 10 times, probably less. I listened to MTG countless times. Literally had the shyt on repeat at some point.

What year did "4 All The Dogs" come out? :gucci:

I said old music.

And I said top 25 because that's typically what people care about. But if you want me to break down how his post-beef drops tumbled down the charts...."Circadian Rhythm" fell 33 spots in a week, mind you....we can do that.

I was trying to be nice. :manny:
