It’s wild as hell that nikkas can sit here and proclaim drake as one of the greats and then say don’t expect growth/maturity when damn near every great in music has done those things. Including nikkas that came in the game with and after him .

:skip: These some wild ass arguments .

:skip:Where did I say Drake was one of the greats? I'm just not going to fault him for making an album to appease to his fanbase instead of brehs that's going to find a reason to hate regardless. And it is also a bit disingenuous to act like Drake hasn't grown throughout his career. The boy has made all kinds of different music. I swear y'all just be saying shyt to say it.

On the last song and this is def one of those “ if you’re a drake fan you’re gonna love it” situations because it sounds like a standard drake album. I honestly don’t hear anything that stands out to me as far as singles go which is new.

I’m sure just off the strength of his super stardom some of these songs will pop due to TikTok or memes. This album didn’t have the controversy going into it that scorpion did and I think it’s gonna suffer for it on top of not having a hit lead single.

drake to me is starting to feel like em. Its like they never have nothin to really say anymore but their dedicated fan base jus love hearing the same shyt from them.

overall it’s kind of whatever to me. I’m gonna give it a few more listens and take my gym songs off it but I’m ready for Kendrick at this point.

Em's definitely, Ye's :ld:

That's an interesting thread

I’ll say this cause I think Drake makes good music... Em, I really believe he didn’t use ghostwriters and tried to craft everything himself; on top of getting sober, I think it killed his creativity, as fuked up as it sounds.

Ye, legit went crazy after his mother died and was surrounded by Yes men. His last decent project was Yeezus, and that album was more about his ideas than his songwriting. Feel like he got obsessed with trying to continue to push boundaries and his praise from critics.

Am I the only one who thinks there’s no traditional single on this album? Drake usually stays with a huge single that takes over the airwaves, but I legit can’t think of one

There isn't really one, but N 2 Deep has potential. I can see a remix of that with Travis Scott blowing up. That song has some sauce on it.
