“Papi’s Home” is quintessential Drake. You give him an album full of beats like that and he delivers an indisputable rap classic.

Also this is like Drake’s 12th project since being mainstream

No artist is making their best collection of music at that point in there career, especially not someone as accomplished and rich as Drake

Now, I’ve only listened to the album once but the problem seems to be it’s not better than Scorpion or any of the music he’s released since then

So when your new stuff doesn’t sound better than what everyone has been listening too already there’s going to be a let down

Now, compare that to Cole where most people weren’t feeling 4YEO and KOD, The off-season sounds like a return to form of some sort when really it’s just better than your last

Same with 4:44 and MCHG

Those projects are not touching peak Cole or Jay but it’s all about expectations and Drakes are high and he didn’t deliver

I hope you remembered to stretch before engaging in such rigorous mental gymnastic bro :lolbron:

Listened to it twice. Mostly mid so far. Knife Talk is the standout track off the first couple of listens.

I’m a big Drake fan but I’m disappointed at his lack of growth with this album.

Also who is Drake so mad at? And Who tf is Hov’s ass so mad at? Other than Dame ain’t nobody paying Hov no attention

nikkas don’t listen to albums because they’re ASS for the most part :dead:

If the album was heat nikkas would put it on and let it rock the whole way through .

there was none of this talk when IYRTITL dropped because it was legit heat .When the nikka drop some mid this “playlist” talk comes up . :dead: . Just say the album is alright ,you fw with 5 of the songs and keep it moving

Excellent post. Drake's hits are so huge that the albums get carried by them. His singles typically are can't miss records that can be played for years. Nobody can take that away from him.

I never just go and play his albums straight through tho, I can do that with other releases from other artists easily.

yeah there are a ton of Drake songs I like but it’s mostly the hits.

each album hes droppped I liked a few album cuts on but none of his albums to me have been great. I always get bored at some point

If you cut to 8 songs it's better than Views or Scorpion. No amazing hits or classics but cool background music.
My playlist:
1. Champagne Poetry (Diet Tuscan Leather but dope intro)
2. Papi's Home (love the beat)
3. Love All ft. Hov ( alright but could've been much better)
4. Fair Trade ft. Travis (fire. Been on repeat)
5. N 2 Deep (the transition whew)
6. Pipe Down (the beat is beautiful)
7. 7am on Bridle Path (Diet version of 6PM)
8. Race My Mind ( Thank Me Later vibes)

last actual decent drake release with any kind of replay value and relatability, thanks meek

I think Drake himself has gone through a major identity crisis since and all this mid music is simply reflection

shyt isn’t even touching wack ass Scorpion and he been sitting on it for 3 plus years smh
