This nikka understands nothing about music or the music business whatsoever.

No dog in this race, but I assume his point is there are millions of songs that Drake could’ve sampled, but he chose to sample music from a guy who is a defendant in a high profile disturbing case.

Jay Z is in his own lane…Nas hasn’t had a hit since 2002 or a Platinum album since 2004. He has the status and reverence but not the popularity or cultural impact.

Both Jay Z and Nas dropped plenty of mid when they were at the stage Kanye and Drake are now.
Nas had KD1&2 and some consider 4:44 a strong piece of work.

even Busta got props for his last project. But you’re always gonna straddle the mainstream line

They are though in real life especially Take Care.

So Far Gone is not a classic because it was different for its time that’s sly hate it was just a classic tape period. :mjlol:
dont listen to these delusional nikkas, So Far Gone was a classic and that shyt hit different if you were living in Toronto when it dropped, Take Care a classic, Nothing Was the Same is a classic and the collab with Future could be looked as a collab classic.

Yeah, it's a valid criticism imo. Not gonna be a huge deal to most ppl but he has a point, especially doing so right now.

But he's reaching saying millions are now gonna go play that song.

Off-season ain’t Cole’s best album it’s an okay album like all of his other ones. Cole’s best work was in his mixtape days where he was hungry.

DAMN was a pop album shyt is garbage compared to Section 80.

Drake don’t have an “excuse”. Drake got a formula that works for him. Only internet nerds think his albums are so bad. I haven’t finished this shyt yet but sonically it was about what I expected. Drake got a soundscape and themes that work for him and that are signature to him.

The Off-Season was a dope album and this is the level of quality Cole should be aiming for. Even people who weren't impressed by Cole before liked it.

DAMN isn't Kendrick's best album, but it's not garbage. There's too much quality in it to say that, and that just speaks to the standard that Kendrick has set for himself with his projects.

And all of that's cool, but Drake shouldn't be put in any top five or GOAT lists. He doesn't want to challenge himself or prove that he's the best anymore. I don't have a problem with that. Just take him out of that category of legendary rappers. If you want to be the best, your albums have to hit, and there are two other people who put more effort into their work than Drake does.

People don’t listen to whole albums like that not sure what you talking about everyone makes playlists, follows pre-made playlists, or shuffle their phones

Drake has several albums that have stayed on the Billboard 200 for like 400 weeks off the strength of the streaming of singles and certain b-sides on those albums in reality his albums are the one people are revisiting :dead:

So nobody listens to albums like that anymore, but people are revisiting Drake albums? Which is it? I don't know why you guys go around acting like albums don't matter when you don't want them to. Drake doesn't have to make albums anymore. He can do singles for the rest of his career like Jennifer Lopez and eat off those. You release an album, that's another body of work to add to your discography. It counts. If you don't want it to count, don't make an album.

And you said it yourself, the huge singles and certain B-sides are keeping those albums on the charts. As an entire body of work, how do those albums hold up? From start to finish, which Drake albums have the quality in 2021? I'll give you Take Care, what are the other ones? Come on, tell me.

EDIT: Just checked the Billboard 200 and Kendrick and Cole both have spots there for GKMC and 2014 FHD, respectively. I guess Drake isn't the only one having his albums revisited off the strength of singles and B-sides.......in reality. :mjlit:

Another safe stick to the formula effort from Drake.

His 2020 run was :wow: tho...

This album sounds like he didn't want to go all in with the R&B like he initially said he was going to do for this. Didn't want to take too much risk, that's what I'm feeling as I play this.
He’s #1 in 131 countries right now, If it ain’t broke, why “fix” it. He giving his fans what we like. He breaking records 12 hours in with 5 Days of promo.

I mean, that's besides the point and a given. I was referring to this tho...

Drake Already Thinks People Will Hate 'Certified Lover Boy' as They Did With 'Views'

This album doesn't sound much different like you're admitting with the "if it's not broken, why fix it" sentiment. He's a machine and he operates like one. Which is why it's easy to say he usually opts for the safe comfortable route.

Not knocking, just giving my observation after spinning this.
