I can’t be the only person that either chuckles or cringes when Drake says “nikka” right :laff:? His tough talk is always so unconvincing, but his rapping just sounds better than his singing. That’s why I mess with 7am On Bridle Path more than any other track I’ve heard.

Gave the album a couple of spins and it's a solid album. I think the second half of the album is way better than the first half.

I like N 2 Deep, but most of this album is forgettable. Not as annoying as Donda, but still mediocre.

I thought this was gonna be better than Donda but he had too many forgettable mellow tracks.

This is where I give Drake his props he ain't scared to battle Emcee's, I'm a Kanye fan over Drake but him still on the necks of Kanye and going at Swizz after defeating Common and Meek In battle and took his first L with Pusha he still ready to catch wreck

I prefer Drake Talking shyt and when he's on nikkaz neck, I don't dig his fukkin nikkaz girl steez, I outgrew that slimeball shyt

I like when an artist go and do some artistic shyt or go left, then I said I want Drake do an whole R&B album then it hit me he already did that with I'm not sure what album because Im not a huge Drake fan but it was Take Care or Nothing was the Same, so I give him props for that

I want to see Drake get on his underground hip hop fan boy shyt, who he's really is. Go to Ma Dukes pay her a few millions and get some Dilla beats and do an album with all Dilla beats even have 40 add OVO sound to those beats

The Off-Season was ok…if we being honest as a thematic work KOD was better and should be held in higher regard. The Off-Season felt like a return to Cole’s mixtape work as far as spitting. Still Cole isn’t making his best music in 2021 and that album kinda came and went if being real.

DAMN isn’t Kendrick’s best work it’s a pop album with some of the worst lyrics he’s ever spat he’s a white liberal favorite and critical darling.

Drake is a legendary rapper though he defined his era for better or worse if you want to put him in the “artist” category whatever point is dude is a legend.

Yeah, people don’t listen to albums like that…people listen to the songs they like. It’s not that albums don’t matter they matter when they come out but over time people just sort out their favorite songs. It’s why streaming playlists and shyt like Pandora is so popular. A lot of people don’t like listening to just one artist when they’re listening to music they like a variety.

Why would Drake just make singles when his deep cuts and b-sides are loved by fans? All of Drake’s albums hold up quality wise he’s never made a terrible album. All his albums have high production value and at least a handful of songs that go. U saying NWTS is trash top to bottom in 2021? The critique of Drake needing to switch it up is valid but at the same time dude is 35. The game has changed…a lot of his peers are running on fumes to keep they careers going. Personally I’m pretty much over all them nikkas including Drake, Kendrick, and Cole because you know what you’re going to get.

KOD was good, and I'm on record as defending it because to me, it felt like Cole was back after 4YEO. But it's not something I see myself going back to that much. Ideas are fine to have, but it wasn't executed well. And this album is a prime example of the narratives that follow Cole being true. The Off-Season shattered those narratives, and it sounds like he's gaining a second wind in his career. Don't know if it's his absolute best work, but I can play it front to back unlike FHD.

The whole "came and went" thing is starting to sound like something people say to criticize albums they don't like. We're not living in the Thriller days where an album can maintain its buzz for several years. To me, an album that actually "came and went" was Demi Lovato's last album. I liked it, but it's obvious that people only cared about the documentary and not the album. There was an Ariana Grande feature on the album, it got sent to radio as a single and it didn't make any noise at all.

Maybe Kendrick is a critical darling because he makes good projects? White liberals love Drake, too. A lot of rappers are loved by white liberals. You don't become multi-platinum without white people listening to your work. And I already said DAMN isn't Kendrick's best album, but songs like "DNA," "Element," "Feel," and "Fear" don't sound pop to me at all.

If you think all of Drake's albums hold up in 2021 and are all dope, then more power to you. Every rapper has at least one dud, but I guess Drake must have the GOAT discography for this incredible level of quality after 12 years in the game. :manny:
