Exactly. The transformations weren't really about Goku (other than maybe a small part him wanting to show off), but about Trunks and working within his knowledge, testing both Trunks' power and seeing where/what Black is at.

Super has had its problems, especially with power levels, but calling it retarded when you can't even grasp something so obvious?

We just seen copy Vegeta spank ssj3 Gotenks in his BASE form 2-3 episodes ago. The shyt is inconsistent.. If this was the beginning of the series and Goku and trunks had that little session, that would be cool. But we're at the point where Goku's transformed levels are many times stronger than and average ssj1 or ssj2.

How can a ssj2 Trunks push Goku back while he's in his base form, let alone ssj2. shyt makes no sense whatsoever. It's like we have middle school kids writing this stuff.

No. The characters have always been as strong as the story required them to be. That's why Goku can jump from being slightly stronger than Ginyu to toe-to-toe with Final Form Frieza with one measly Zenkai. Or that Dr. Gero can create beings stronger than Super Saiyans with weak ass Earthling technology . Y'all put way too much thought into this shyt.

Besides, even the shytty ass speedsubs made it clear that Goku was just shuffling through the Super Saiyan forms so Trunks could figure out Black's strength

Breh you sound retarded. Goku shouldn't have to transform to gauge Trunk's strength. The point I'm trying to make is, Goku base form is much stronger than Trunks SSJ2 form, that's why he didn't need to go ssj1,2 and 3 there. It's stupid and inconsistent, don't try to spin it.

No shock that he went ss2, he was right there cell saga with the muscular pre version of the form...

SS3 is still what need to be explained trunks didn't appear to be surprised of the form, and felt his max ss2 should have been enough to bam...What if goku didn't achieve god mode, and base mode training, would trunks been strong enough then for the form... They need to give a quick rundown of level 3 and its limitations and why some can't achieve or seemingly disregard it

SSJ3 can only be achieved by training non-stop in the Other World. You dont need sleep nor eat and have no limitations while dead. If Goku doesnt die, Goku never becomes SSJ3.
