Y'all Vegeta stans just need to accept that Dragon Ball is a story about Goku and Vegeta will always just be a second fiddle. And you can't point to Gohan killing Cell because Gohan is Goku's son and his character arc is an extension of Goku's.

That Vegeta made a major contribution to the Moro fight using a special technique he learned is a big deal for him. Vegeta's arc is accepting that he ain't gonna be Goku.
The issue is Dragonball writing hasn't evolved with the times but it likes to pretend it has. Plenty of anime and manga in the same category as DBSuper have a Vegeta type characters that do way more storywise. DB is really good with the build up but they constantly drop the ball when it comes to the payoff.

Many of the top animes have distanced the main focus from the main protagonist from time to time and the shows have been way better for it. DBSuper can BARELY handle ONE side character properly with Vegeta because they've literally given up on everyone else, when you got so many other animes that handle multiple characters with ease.

I'd argue his arc is still fighting for redemption. That conversation with the other namekians was very interesting and a look at where Vegeta is now. The writing still uses old dbz tropes yes but they have enough leeway that they can go in different directions. We've seen Goku and Vegeta train together the entire Super and since Moro arc they've been separated again. They will both be stronger by the end of this.

I still hope Toriyama goes with the ending he wrote in Dragon Ball Online...where Goku and Vegeta start getting :flabbynsick:and decide to go to an uninhabited planet and fight to the death.

Thats coming. And that is another 20 years away in the DBS storyline

The Vegeta stans are annoying at this point. At no point was Vegeta stronger than Goku in the Moro arch either. It's annoying. Vegeta is not the main character. Just accept this. dam.

But how much is it "dropping the ball" and how much is it you guys just gassing shyt up too much? Dragon Ball doesn't have to evolve anything, even in its heyday it wasn't beholden to any of the storytelling conventions of its peers, because Toriyama didn't read other manga. Dragon Ball's not the same genre as MHA or whatever the fukk is out, they just appear in the same magazine and have the same target audience.

DB is the story of Goku and his personal improvement. Vegeta just filling in the slot Krillin, Tien, and Piccolo occupied at different points.

The real merit of Vegeta's character is actually becoming a good person who doesn't get in the way - it will never come from him surpassing Goku or beating a villain. They literally wouldn't have won without Vegeta anyway, so what difference does it make? Beating the bad guy ain't his role.

the problem isnt dragon balls failure to adapt, the problem is vegeta dikkriders failure to enjoy the show without basing their satisfaction on whether or not he gets the final kill/surpasses goku

they hold onto hope for it every single arc and psych themselves up for it only for goku to save the day leaving them mad.. they do it to themselves at this point

shyt is always gonna be the goku show get over it or watch something else

nikkas just need to accept that Vegeta will always be #2 (or 1B at the very most) and stop complaining.

This is forever ya man's role as long as the franchise is running
