Oh I didn't know what you meant by who's the three. I thought you just meant who's at the spot. Krillin and Roshi are definitely better than Yamcha and Tien. They don't do Tien too much justice since apparently not only does he take his training seriously, it seems like he's out here training everyday.
Surprised they do nothing with Trunks and Goten since Gohan was putting in work when he was a little younger than them.
These bums are spoiled, sheltered brats in this one. Young Gohan was getting wrecked by family, other Saiyans, Piccolo, the Ginyu Force, Frieza, etc. Those 2 are always joking, even when they fought Buu.

To be fair Gohan grew up in an era where it was just Goku holding to down
and it was a matter of Goku showing up on time so until then Gohan had to hold his own. Now look at trunks and Goten they got Goku Vegeta Gohan Piccolo the Androids Buu all in the cut ready to go so they can enjoy being kids instead of fighters
Here's my take:
Goten was only created to fill the Goku void after he died in the Cell saga. He acts and looks exactly like Goku. When fans got upset that Gohan had the juice, Toriyama brought Goku back but forgot he already created Goten to replace him. So now there are basically two Gokus. Toriyama didn't feel like writing Goten out so he left him there with kid Trunks as someone to play with since Trunks himself was just plot device for the Androids.
