You get an even bigger appreciation for the Goku black arc in EnglishEnglish dub
Kale and Caulifla didn't learn how to become SSJ in 5 seconds. Frost put in major work before getting eliminated. Krillin got washed ASAP. Android 17 is only SSJ3 level, or at least that's what it appears like, since that's what Goku fought him with in the manga.
They still learned how to do it easily and quick off screen. 17 being SSJ3 level is still a massive jump because of the whole god= base Goku thing. And how is throwing Krillin and Tien under the bus with no wins good writing? That's just wasting characters.
Where are you getting this info that Kale and her sister learned to do it off screen, because nothing has even been shown yet. It’s still a big jump for Android 17 but it’s still much more reasonable than achieving SSG level power which was so hyped at the beginning of the series. Krillin and Tien getting washed is a good thing because they’re fodder and should be treated as such.
Its stated that Caulifla learn SSJ easily in the manga offscreen, shortly after Cabba showed her.
If Freeza can becoming SSB level in just 4 months of training, why can't 17 (who is naturally better than Freeza) do it in over a decade? It makes no sense for people to complain about 17's power in the anime.
Instead of making them fodder, Toyotaro could have took the opportunity to rewrite them to not be fodder. There is no point in even bringing Tien and Krillin around if they not gonna accomplish anything? That's just bad writing.
