Yeah...if the U6 Saiyans had already been at least SSJ and they unlocked SSJ 2/3 during the tournament, I could live with that. Would still be fast but I could write it off as them having a lot of potential.

But from not even being able to go Super Saiyan a week ago to getting SSJ3 :beli:

Keep in mind, from the time Goku first went Super Saiyan to the first time he unlocked SSJ3 was 5+ years and probably closer to 10 (we don't know exactly when he got it, but it was between the Cell and Buu Sagas).

But that said I can sort of understand why they're giving the characters (17, Frieza, Caulifla, etc.) powerups. It would be boring if nobody could compete with Goku/Vegeta so they want to keep other characters relevant. Honestly the real problem stems from the 2nd half of DBZ where Goku and Vegeta were way too OP in the first place.

the manga does a better job of explaining what's happening. the anime just beats you in the head with power-ups (not complaining, but if we're being trill a lot of that shyt makes no sense).

for example... when they fought Goku Black and vegeta gave him the beats, it wasnt just because he went to the room of spirit and time. he analyzed goku's fight with hit, figured out goku used a combination of his SSG and SSB forms to win (goku doesnt use that SSBxkaioken bullshyt in the manga), then used his training in the room of spirit and time to perfect goku's technique while goku learned mafuuba to deal with immortal zamasu.

goku peeped how vegeta flipped his technique during the fight with Goku Black and gave the prince his props, on some :leon: shyt.

then goku took vegeta's technique and furthered it by mastering (incomplete) SSB. :russ:

but vegeta saw THAT and as soon as they defeated Goku Black, he immediately started training with whis by himself to complete the technique whis told them both about back when they learned how to achieve SSB. the ability to fight without thinking, each body part reacting on its own. guessing that will be the equivalent of ultra instinct in the anime. vegeta made it clear that because goku unlocked the full potential of SSB first, his goal now is to reach ultra instinct first. :yeshrug:

Whis also stated that Vegeta was ahead of Goku again. After that Beerus gave him the instrumentals then told him that he could be a god of Destruction candidate.

Goku and Vegeta split the shine pretty much down the middle in the manga. When fused, they were stated to be beyond Beerus at 100%. :leon:

well u6 saiyans don't have tails, and they never heard of ssj or even thelegend of it.

I would've just given them an alternate transformation and kept it moving.

Exactly.

This whole debate is almost based on pure head canon. The only clear thing we know is that U6 sayians evolved differently than their U7 counterparts. THATS IT. wtf that even means we don't even know but it's not even hinted at in the series that this being the reason they achieved SSJ so quickly.

People are just picking and choosing whatever nonsense makes the most sense to them to make up for the bad writing.

I'll sum it up as to why the U6 transformations are stupid.

SSJ was a transformation that could not be taught. It had to be unlocked/unleashed. SSJ was a very very rare transformation that was legendary to the sayian race. Goku achieved it and then did Vegeta who we know for a fact that these two individuals are no ordinary sayians, Goku being a prodigy and Vegeta being a genius.

The point is we know why these two were able to attain this form. But when it comes to U6 we don't know shyt about cabba, kale, or califla. We don't know if they've ever had to fight for their life or if they've even trained at all. We don't even know if they're the strongest saiyans in U6.

So right now they just look like random saiyans that have gotten decades worth of powerups in a matter of 2 weeks. And I would be 100% on board with this if they just took the time to explain why?

It's just bad writing. They introduced all these universe but didn't bother to world-build around them. Threw in all these different characters and expected us to just shut up, watch and give a shyt about them.

Jiren is a result of this bad writing. Nothing interesting about him. Just strong for the sake of being stronger than Goku. Created for the sole purpose of introducing a new form. They built up the Pride Troopers so much but Jiren doesn't even seem like he's apart of the group. He's just his own entity.

Dragonball is not a complicated show but when you leave so many plot holes and unexplained events around people are going to do their best to make sense of it all. This SSJ issue should have been explained long ago but the writers are too busy hyping up a dumb transformation.

This is the future of Dragonball. Overhyping new transformations, new characters, new fusions, all at the expense of a coherent story.
