Pretty much. This guy is asking for money without providing anything tangible while self proclaiming that he is the savior for our babies....... and we aint supposed to hold him accountable or ostracize him?

let me clarify. I have nothing against his teachings ( but to be honest I haven't followed them so much) because the situation I'm in and where I am in Africa isn't experiencing the type specific social problems he's speaking about. We have our own issues and I a guess if I follow what he speaks about I may find commonality. then I also lived in your country so I do understand the dynamic there. It's just no longer relevant to me because there's other stuff I have to deal with and mechanics are different here.
As far as his sexual dalliances. It was an honest question because I remember there was a thread here about how his actions had caused a scandal. I didn't know if it had been resolved or not, and I wasn't fussing about it in that thread. Merely spectated. So I was moreso looking to see how those who felt strongly in that thread feel now.
from what I'd gather it doesn't matter so I guess that other thread was for nothing. I'm advised to separate his teachings from his person and actions.
It was an earnest question to begin with. This assumption that whoever questions what the guy might be about to get a read on him is either white or some fatherless black troll in some basement though..
I fukks with a lot of his points on the education shyt. I do say we should embrace special education though, I'm kinda weary on too much medication as well.

"Money that's supposed to be for special ed being used to fund athletics" At a college I can see that, but do HS principals even have the authority to allocate funds like that?
I will say, IF Umar had his ducks in a row, I'm talking lesson plans, concrete documentation of potential location acquisition, potential staff, and be completely open with his credentials (or lack thereof) I would be on board and support. But until then, I can't do it. I just can't blindly throw bread to someone under the guise of positively influencing and educating young black people.

People aren't paying for a public education perse.. They are being taxed for it.... How many middle to lower class blacks can afford school tuition for their kids..?

This topic has been done to death. People have an issue with him because of his lack of transparency and his arrogance about it. If you've been planning to buy a school for 3 years, it doesn't take that long to write a 2 page PDF with some basic information on it. No one is asking to do an audit. There should be no attitudes, issues, or problems with providing basic information on a project that you've been soliciting funds for, for 3 years.
I agree with a lot of what Umar says. That doesn't mean I agree with his lying and saying he is celibate when he is not. It doesn't mean I agree with his hypocrisy in teaching that black men have to start marrying black women, when he hasn't married either of his baby mothers. But I agree with his stance on a lot of issues.
That doesn't mean I am obligated to support his efforts to build a school that I don't actually believe he is building. And if he is, good luck to him. I hope he is able to drop the arrogance to keep it running smoothly. Because a large scale project like a residential school requires collaboration, not a dictatorship.

Bruh now you really getting into semantics. The question I asked was what is the solution to the problems raised by Umar in this interview? And what are you doing if anything to help the community?
Because you can have valid criticisms of dude, but I don't feel those criticisms should stop the funding of this man's project.
Because like I said, you buy shyt everyday from white ppl with a questionable history beyond Umars. But black ppl like you seem to only want to enforce some fake ass honor code to other brothers.
The question is does this project solve issues that need to be addressed. If yes, lets get the shyt going. fukk all the fake outrage..cause nikkas buying BP gas in 2015 "because they need it" despite their questionable business practices. Same with Walmart or any other multi international company.
People need something to believe in, and he's a charismatic salesman. Pretty much the same reason people like David Miscavige and Creflo Dollar have been able to rob people blind for years.

Plenty families can afford it. And if you're concerned for those who can't maybe that's where brothers like you come in and provide a solution as opposed to shytting on another brother providing one.
But you may be right. I missed where he said how much the tuition is going to be and if there will be vouchers and other payment options. Can you time mark that for me?
To be clear I never said this school will end poverty, black oppression and white supremacy. It provides a service needed in our community that will help create the conditions for black prosperity...now can you point to what you do in the community.

No... The majority of black families cannot afford it. I really doubt a lot of you posters even hang around black people, or be around the ones who need the most assistance. And Umar has not provided any solutions at all..... He is getting paid for rhetoric and solicits donations for his "vision" which is still clouded in mystery after 3 years.
