Dre should've dropped an album right before Section.80 tbh and had a young Kendrick as inspirationEm was new when 2001 dropped, snoop was new when the chronic dropped, and thats just 2 examples.
Quit tryina act like forgot about dre and next episode werent getting spins breh. Maybe not top 10 but stillI'm talking about a few days after 2001 was released. Only single that had dropped by then was Still Dre that debuted and peaked at #93 on the Billboard 100. Plenty of people were saying there were no hit singles on 2001 either back then too. In fact, that album had zero top 10 singles throughout its release. In comparison, The Chronic had two top 10 singles with G Thang and Dre Day.
Easy to say this shyt in 2015 with 20/20 hindsight. In November '99 it was a different story.
