The first half of the album I thought was not that good. Everyone who rapped sounded the same. But that second half is something I can fukk with!

People forget that 2001 got a fair share of hate when it dropped. Doesn't sound anything like The Chronic/not G Funk. None of the songs were as catchy as G Thang. No Daz. No Warren. Kurupt rhyming bytch with bytch. Hell, there was even a gang of dudes who were convinced that No Limit shyt was doper than that album.

Be on the wrong side of history, brehs.

I remember coppin' that album the first day it came out and dudes were talking that "Dre was done" shyt. Then, when Forgot About Dre dropped, those same dudes were playing it like it was nothing and they were bumpin' Xxplosive and The Next Episode.

Folks kill me with that revisionist history.

I don't think that's necessary. To me, "Deep Water" is over after Kendrick murders it.

I've listened through four times now. I'm sticking with the 4/5 grade. The inconsistent vocals are the problem. Kendrick murdered his shyt. Snoop was great. A lot of the guests were.. but Dre himself was all over the place and I wasn't impressed with the newcomers outside of Paak.

Anyone knocking the production I really have to question. A couple songs maybe but most of it is crack.
