ME talking about having a straw-man when you just PROVED my point? How the HELL you going to say this doesn't have "unforgettable moments" when the album only came out A FEW DAYS AGO? How in the world you going to make that assessment and not even a full WEEKEND gone by? You proved my POINT that you are stuck in nostalgia, because you are comparing an album that is over 20 years old to that which only a few days old. And LETS NOT FORGET when Doggystyle was first release, people back THEN felt underwhelmed because it wasn't like THE CHRONIC. The same criticism people are saying today, they were saying about it back when Doggystyle was released. If you do not believe me, go to THE SOURCE archives and read their review and why they only gave that album 4 MICS back then. That was the general consensus back then. So don't come where saying I am pulling things out of thin air. The fact people like yourself claiming this will be unforgettable and comparing to albums of TWO DECADES back whereas this just a few days out proves my point.

Examine the album for what it IS and not with albums he previously done before!
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan who gives a fukk what the source said, when doggystyle dropped it set the world on fire and everyone was bumping,NO ONE WAS DISAPPOINTED or talking shyt about it at all. Lol at the source = the general consensus, lmao. This nikka said go back, nikka we was on the source in 92' i dont have to go back and read it. I'm telling you this album possesses zero great songs and i'm sure it will not be remembered. nikka all excited like he really said something,NIGGA YOU SAID NOTHING.

I'm surprised to see Neff-U co-produced a song on the album, he's also listed on the credits of Issues. Wasn't he beefing with Dr. Dre years ago about not getting credited on songs from 2001?
Anyway, I think the album is great. I've been listening to Dre since '92. Chronic was an instant classic as soon as I heard it. 2001 was a disappointment and had too much filler but sonically, it raised the bar in hip hop.
This album has so many things to hear that I don't think its hit all of us fully yet. He's raised the bar sonically again, so much instrumentation under the layers. Forget about Detox and enjoy this with no expectations and it's better than most albums released in the last few years. Have to give that to a 50 year old. I would like to see some videos for the songs so we can put some faces to the newcomers. I can appreciate it for what it is: A rap album released by a well known producer who has been doing it for 30 years.
Gotta respect that.
NAW WE DONT GOTTA RESPECT AVERAGE shyt. Quincy jones (dre's idol) was around 50 when he produced thriller, even older when he produced BAD and back on the block. You can't raise a bar by making shyt weaker than shyt you made 20-25 years ago

the internet
On first listen this is what stood out to me:

1. Kendrick is legit
2. Eminem needs to let someone else handle the production on his shyt...this is the first time in a long time I liked a song w/ him on it.
3. We need more Premiere

Album is alright...probably wont play it that much.
Ill give it more listens though...I didnt like Aquemini on first listen, and it ended up being one of my favorite albums.

Just as bad.... Dr. Dre had never repeated from anything he done previously before. NWA sounded nothing like The Chronic, The Chronic sounded nothing like 2001, 2001 sound nothing like Compton. This is catered and produced for MODERN heads and not outdated music done 15 years in the past. Appreciate it for what it is and not be stuck on nostalgia.
I don't know wtf u talking bout

This album sounds outdated and boring
Like some shyt he had laying around from 2003

I wasn't expecting another 2001
I also wasn't expecting this forgettable shyt

If u like it good for u but I hate how u dudes cant just like an album without insulting the people that don't

That's childish as fukk
