I feel kinda bad for King Mez and Justus. Their shyt ain't ever coming out lol.

What ever happened to Hittman? How do you go from being featured on 2001 to not having a career at all?

Word.. his DJ n Aftermath AnR Ben Baller ended up makin a bigger name.x impact for himself then Hittin Did smh

But that kame.down more to hitt not really having a manager and any real drive to have things set up in the right way

I can't speak for Justus ..but.mezs manager eve is nicely connected and has a game.plan

Same.as Anderson's team

Hitt never really had that ..plus he didn't care or have that drive ..

:dwillhuh:

You're setting up another straw man. Nobody is saying that they want it to sound like his previous efforts - they're completely conscious of the fact that Dre pushes the genre forward with each release - that's what they're measuring it by. His efforts of bringing something new and fresh to the table. The nonsense you posted about dudes needing to unclog their ears because they're conditioned to the "hot trash that is commercial rap these days" is completely off base.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but honestly there should be NO LOGICAL EXCUSE to say this particular album is any forms of wack or subpar when it challenges and advances music quality in every fashion When it insists on being lyrical. When its NOT made to please poppy radio friendly listeners. When it is modernized music yet still trying to push the envelope. From where I stand, those who dislike it are either category: Conditioned to the the crap that's current in hip hop today OR lost in nostalgia wanting more of what Dr. Dre done a decade and a half ago and not letting go from that. It cannot POSSIBLY due to the music is wack or the lyricism on display was simplistic and immature or the musical substance and concept for the album was non-existent. If you and anyone else BELIEVES that, I surely trying you to unclog your ears. Simple as that.

This is EXACTLY WHAT HE'S DOING and it disgusts me.
nikka pulling shyt out of the air to make up for their bullshyt. Albums lile straight outta compton and doggystyle sound vastly different from each other but each contains a large amount of unforgettable moments. WHich this album just doesnt have

ME talking about having a straw-man when you just PROVED my point? How the HELL you going to say this doesn't have "unforgettable moments" when the album only came out A FEW DAYS AGO? How in the world you going to make that assessment and not even a full WEEKEND gone by? You proved my POINT that you are stuck in nostalgia, because you are comparing an album that is over 20 years old to that which only a few days old. And LETS NOT FORGET when Doggystyle was first release, people back THEN felt underwhelmed because it wasn't like THE CHRONIC. The same criticism people are saying today, they were saying about it back when Doggystyle was released. If you do not believe me, go to THE SOURCE archives and read their review and why they only gave that album 4 MICS back then. That was the general consensus back then. So don't come where saying I am pulling things out of thin air. The fact people like yourself claiming this will be unforgettable and comparing to albums of TWO DECADES back whereas this just a few days out proves my point.

Examine the album for what it IS and not with albums he previously done before!

11. Just Another Day (The Game feat. Asia Bryant)
(Asia Bryant, Andre Young, J. Taylor, S. Benton, T. Lawrence Jr. & T. Feemster)
Produced by Dr. Dre & Neff-U

I'm surprised to see Neff-U co-produced a song on the album, he's also listed on the credits of Issues. Wasn't he beefing with Dr. Dre years ago about not getting credited on songs from 2001?
Anyway, I think the album is great. I've been listening to Dre since '92. Chronic was an instant classic as soon as I heard it. 2001 was a disappointment and had too much filler but sonically, it raised the bar in hip hop.
This album has so many things to hear that I don't think its hit all of us fully yet. He's raised the bar sonically again, so much instrumentation under the layers. Forget about Detox and enjoy this with no expectations and it's better than most albums released in the last few years. Have to give that to a 50 year old. I would like to see some videos for the songs so we can put some faces to the newcomers. I can appreciate it for what it is: A rap album released by a well known producer who has been doing it for 30 years.
Gotta respect that.

I still don't know where you're getting this from. 99.9% of dudes who've posted in this thread never expected this album to appease their "poppy radio friendly" palate, because either a) they don't have one b) IT'S A DR. fukkIN' DRE album centered around the scape of Compton.
From where I stand, those who dislike it are either category: Conditioned to the the crap that's current in hip hop today OR lost in nostalgia wanting more of what Dr. Dre done a decade and a half ago and not letting go from that. That's because you've convinced yourself that taste is through the basis of some sort of warped logical explanation (on a whim might I add). It isn't.
