ehhh, it's impact can't be discredited but if we keeping it funky, Streetz Iz A Mutha >>>>> Chronic 2001 as far as a true West coast album goes....and the production wasn't that far behind Dre's....the one thing I think that hurt Kurupt was the fact that it dropped on the same day....Didn't NL Top Dogg drop before all these tho??

that album sold 7 milion copies. which is amazing to me. i can understand em sellimn, or nelly poppy music selling, but for this hard core shyt that was strictly westcoast is incredible to me. would be like gangsta gibbz selling 4 million in todays climate.

yup, as aclassic as the first half is, the second half is average for a Dre album. the new MC's didn't have the same chemistry and charisma as the original.

first half tho? :banderas:
Hold on brehs... what made the second half wack? :lupe: Some la nikkaz, and housewife are just as strong as anything on the first half...that little 4 second beat that plays during carbomb...:banderas:

it wasnt a perfect or flawless album but it was undeniably classic, beautifully executed front to back

Just out of curiosity, what we're people's feelings about Dre producing a few songs for snoop on topp dogg because that came out before the Chronic 2001 did and at the same time i think EM's debut came out as well

Dre brought Snoop back from the dead with B1tch Please off of that album...his previous 2 albums although they sold relatively well didnt have any Dre production and were considered flops by most fans and critics

nah. cant cosign this.

snoop never left.

his previous albums sold the same, and that top dogg album wasnt critically acclaimed neither. it was a lil bit better received because it was more of a west coast album, as opposed to his 1st no limit joint. thats about it.

and dre only did 2 or 3 beats.

You know what would have been dope? If they discovered a young 50 cent earlier & he was the co star instead of Hittman. Hittman just didn't do it for me.
