if Dre never made Xxsplosive, Ye never would've had a style to run with

West could of used something else.[DOUBLEPOST=1397548139][/DOUBLEPOST]
2nd half is straight doo ddo

U tripping. The 2nd half had the message and Some LA nikkaz. The album was fire to the finish line

Ye has personally said he stole the drums from Xxplosive because he didn't have a style basically. i think it was in an old Scratch mag.

Kanye ended up using those Xxplosive drums at least a dozen times. Fast, slow whatever.[DOUBLEPOST=1397551457][/DOUBLEPOST]I hate it when producers have a great team then mess it all up.

Dre on drums and the orchestrator + Storch on keys + Elizondo on bass = that's a hip hop dream team

Kanye + No ID + Jeff Bhasker (+Mike Dean) = a hip-hop dream team

the mastering and quality on that album is flawless.that album alone made a lot of record labels and mastering engineers go crazy trying to match the loudness & crisp quality of 2001.that will always be my go to album when i want crisp hard hitting kicks and snapping snares.

I like the second half better,.Akrite, Some LA nikkas,, and Housewife(even tho it was on streetz iz a mutha first) are my top favorite songs on that album..
The second half starts with lets get high, a fukkin party CLASSIC, and ends with the message which has an amazing beat and is a great end to the album

The album can be played beginning to end flawlessly.

This thread was about the impact but people are questioning its quality? :wtf: i didnt even discuss this...because it wasnt questionable

In one bold move that album:

-Made the west coast relevant again
I'm sorry but i'm not sorry: outside of E-40 and ice cube the west was riding on fumes from the time pac died to that albums' release

-Resurrected Snoop's mainstream career
yes, his No Limit career sold albums but his appearance on Still Dre and verse on The Next episode made him Top tier relevant again

-Made eminem legit
HIs verse on Forgot About Dre is still crazy and made him REAL popular, more than his first album easily. Even on still dre the "eminem, triple platinum sellin 100 a week" or whatever whith his appearance in the still dre video made him official

-Kickstarted the ho-hum careers of Xzibit and Devin the dude
Both of them were niche artists with a tiny following. Xzibit would go on to go platinum and more just because of his verses on what's the difference and other tracks.

-Reminded you NATE DOGG is GOAT status
Both his verses on Next episode and AMAZING vocals on Xxplosive made him a certified, made man goat status legend

-Made you second guess Kurupt's career
dude was pretty much the only EMBARASSMENT on the album and it totally derailed his career

-Made SUGE KNIGHT LESS REVELVANT
It was clear that his old employees were ALL going to stand tall outside of DR

-Confirmed Dr. Dre's production is GOAT
put a LOT of guys like timbaland and others who were getting major cred, on notice.

-Got people interested in the following albums:
X-zibit: Restless, Marshall Mathers LP, The Eastsidaz, No limit top dogg, music & me, the eventual 2013 album, and others, selling MILLIONS of records.

what else had the DIRECT IMPACT as that?
one of da best albumz of 1999!

Chronic 2001 catapult that West Coast sound into another dimension:lawd:

...and singlehandedly made producers and engineers go for that crisp, polish, loud crescendo drums that took over production for the new millenium:yeshrug:

But come on that shyt was like 3 levels down for kurupt and was the beinning of the end for him

Totally agree. Kurupt mailed it in on that shyt. Straight cussing and shyt and barely rhyming. OG Chronic and early Death Row Kurupt was a mufukkin BEAST!

the blueprint beats arent popular because of the drums. theyre popular because of the soul samples, and they used those off the back of what ghostface & AZ were already doing with their tapes.

kanye couldve used other drums. or they couldve used just blaze more. he was the more popular producer anyway.
