I kept hearing that. Is there any Daz produced albums from around the same time with similar beats? Could Dogfood be one? I remember the beats don't sound as refined on Dogfood as Doggy style or Chronic.

Nah. Only idiots spread that nonsense around.

Daz said himself that he didn't do anything on The Chronic or Doggystyle. Snoop said people need to stop saying that because it isn't true. Warren G said he was with Dre for most of The Chronic because he gave him a lot of the records Dre used for the album. And he always says that Dre would be alone working on that album, unless he brought in live musicians. Kurupt said the same.

Daz did Dogg Food. Dre recorded and mixed it. He helped Dre on the remix for Rage's "Afro Puffs" with the bassline, and Dre credited him for it. Only in Hip Hop do weirdos go out of their way to discredit GOAT's. Sh*t is corny.

I can see that.

I'm conflicted about Dre. His first run was great. Then when he decided to stop rapping - that was the turning point.

I always liked Dre's rapping voice. He came across as a believable crime boss.

Then when his mistresses got revealed I was taken aback. Because his wife was more attractive than all of them.

He has been through alot.

But I wish he didn't take so many long breaks.

This new Snoop album's sounding good tho.

He never really stopped rapping. He's always in the booth.

I don’t really care about his personal life. I just want dude to keep the tracks banging and dropping dope sh*t. He's annoying as hell with the long breaks, but it's just how he is. But I'm not that excited for a new Snoop album. I do want a new Dre album though!

Word.

A new Dre album more similar to 1992 Chronic or NWA would be dope to me. With the hip hop not R'n'B like beats of 2001.

this is what this basically is, or the closest thing to it unless Dre has more up his sleeve.

according to Snoop himself, this is 100 percent Dr. Dre's vision/orchestration. Dre is even doing press and is listed as the additional primary artist on streaming services.

I know it's not the same but a Dre album on Death Row in 2024 is wild to me

People waiting for another Chronic are delusional, the times and the sounds have passed. I'm looking forward to hear how his production works in this current climate. For reference go listen to Marsha Ambrosius's album, that album is absolutely fire, layered production, actual musicianship and structure /concepts. That's were I think the fickle younger demo will sign off, their ears aren't trained to actually digest full songs with structure they aren't used to. Hiphop needs a break from its ADHD Peter Pan syndrome but it's unlikely this album will do it. I will be listening and enjoying it since my brain can actually retain bandwidth for more than 90 seconds .
