uhh yea. He wasnt a "loving" father. He was like in his 50s or 60s when they had korey and was just worn down by then from what korey says. Plus he was a war vet. Last time he saw his dad before he passed, his dad cursed him out for trying to help him off the toilet or something like that. Supposedly martin's dad was way worse tho and thats why the movie fences hit him so hard and why it was one of his favorite movies last year. I've literally nvr heard martin say a good thing about his pops.

My nikka wasn’t scared to call Korey out on his bullshyt..
That voice will be missed because Korey be saying some borderlineshyt..

Korey was skirting very close to the line..
I get the sentiment but him saying..
“That’s why cops shoot us”
Is utter bullshyt..
Cops been shooting us for years...
No matter if we wear suits, follow complete instructions (Philand C.).
America don’t give a fukk about black skin..
Never have..
Never will..
Granted he was correct on how Hollywood gave a green light to this after the success of Black Panther..
We do need more positive movies to encourage kids..
Will never argue against it..
But let’s not act like America wasn’t raised on gangster movies and violence..
The Godfather is a complete bullshyt portrayal of Italians..
Scarface bullshyt portrayal of Cubans..
But both are seen as classic..
Blaxploitation was an golden era of film(some despise it but I love it)
For better or worse..
I understand his assessment that those movies had meanings and messages..
But this movie could have the same messages that just got brushed over..
I mean Martin didn’t even know about crypto being turned into real money and called it far fetched..
Sometimes old nikkas are quick to judge and say the most shyt out their mouths..
And I’m an old nikka and have caught myself and had to fall back because young brehs just need someone to listen..
Even if we know better..
The way Korey was talking over Goodwin was one of those moments..
Getting defensive and acting like what he says is law..
That’s one of the biggest problems in our community..
Nobody listens and we can never meet in the middle or at least try to reason with each other..
Nobody he has around him will challenge him like that outside of Martin..

I used to really like DT. Thought it was fun and different. Then it floated away and became a parody of itself. After they did the media class for the students Cory kind of lost it. To emotional to many unnecessary moist comments. He seems to have some issue with himself that he needs to get over. I checked back in for black panther and infinity war more of the same he alienates his co-hosts and the audience in my opinion. I have had to resort to grace Hightower with her annoying short sighted self

I mean how Goodwin was acting like the characters weren't stereotypical or two dimensional.

Ehh...I just watched that and I don't think that's what Goodwin was saying at all. In the end, he even agreed with Korey saying the movie was a rental and was just at best, serviceable. His main thing was saying that the women of the film weren't being demeaned or mistreated really and that just like how other races can have their bullshyt movies without needing to have a in-depth message (see Adam Sandler movies in comparison to Kevin Hart movies for instance) and that they can still play on negative stereotypes and whatnot, without it being such a detriment to them as a race as a whole and that we should also be able to have the same thing without it being detrimental to us either. I agree with him about that whole sale.
