North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Sounds like the whole enterprise is no good.

Especially wack is the fact that there's not a clear, flat price for the person to bring you your fukcing food.
They’re basically the middle man taking money from the restaurant and the customer. The drivers are caught in the middle.

crazy that people think its more realistic to demand higher pay from millions of customers instead of demanding higher pay from a single employer.
You could fight one battle or a million, and they chose a million. as they say people always trying to ice skate uphill

There is especially Doordash does the calculation for the customer that they can choose to increase or lower based on their discretion. The problem is that you can now add a tip after the order has been accepted that the drivers are using to exploit and try and take advantage of the customer.

Keep in mind. On the other side of the coin, these drivers be getting hustled via tips as well. The customer will place a high tip. After the driver delivers, the customer can change the tip for about an hour afterwards. They will drop the tip down to a measly amount.

Now that's a separate discussion altogether that Doordash and other places are starting to crack down on by preventing changes after the order has been delivered or adding more layers to the process.

In the case of this particular article, if I tip the driver before placing the order (as I always do), there's no reason why I should have an "add tip" option while waiting for my order to be delivered as that's asking for issues to arise. Even real delivery places like Pizza Hut or Dominos doesn't include an add tip option after the order has already been placed and waiting for delivery.

The tip beforehand is supposed to prevent any issues between the driver and customer.

I feel you, but sometimes I add to the tip, if I see like a whole family in the car or they look like they really need it

Unless You’re sick you are personally better off just driving to the store 99% of the time :manny:

Dudes end up paying like 30 dollars for a meal that costed about 17 after taxes and delivery fees plus tip :mjlol:
We order Chipotle once a week and we used to get it delivered. You order through the website but it’s still DoorDash. After looking at the price difference after all the fees, and the fact that they just charge more for the items I just started going to pick it up. That was like an extra $15-$20 that we were wasting on fees and tips every week.

But get this, I still do online orders but instead I just go pick it up. When I pick it up, I usually don’t tip anything even though there’s an option to. I mean, for what? So sometimes we order double chicken, but they don’t always give us double chicken when we order it. So I did a little experiment. When I would leave a tip, they’d give us the double chicken… but if I don’t tip they don’t give us the double chicken THAT WE PAID FOR. I’ve confirmed this over about 7 or 8 orders.

I’m about to complain to corporate

I get why people would add to the tip, but it’s created a situation in where Dashers will use it to try and exploit customers.
