i feel the surcharges have like doubled since i started using these apps years ago...

now the charges almost equal the price of food itself so you're essentially paying double to have it delivered ....fukk that it might be cheaper just to uber myself to the restaurant

100% this.

The surcharges aren't so bad if you're ordering a bunch of food for a football/hoops watching party.....but on a $20 order that has a $10 "delivery fee" and then adding a tip, tax etc.....shyt ends up being $40 for a couple of burgers, fries and a shake.

I do postmates, and it bothers me these places don't ,AT MINIMUM , tie the order in a knot or staple the bags. shyt don't feel right.

Breh, I deliver for Uber Eats and that shyt bugs me.

These restaurants are getting fukked by Uber and then joints.

But not getting fukked like the drivers. The pay is absolute shyt. I mean I get why some drivers don’t give a fukk, but you signed up for this don’t like it move the fukk on.

Like restaurant will hand me open food sometimes and I’m like you gone cover that shyt? And they hit me with :manny:

It’s a shyt situation all around but someone is making millions off it.

Yall gotta blame the food spots. Those nikkas will leave your food out just chillin out getting cold

I was doing deliveries for DoorDash in the summer and this was very common. Restaurants just sit your food out on the counter until the person comes and get it. Sometimes food would be cold by the time I picked it up. I'm glad certain apps rate the driver and the restaurant separately, because the driver has no say about the food. He/She is just the middle man.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Uber Eats charges a restaurant 30% of their listed prices for the privilege of delivering their food. For example, Bob’s Deli charges $10 for a burger. Uber Eats would take $3 dollars as a fee for delivering their food. Also, Uber Eats does not permit restaurants to increase their prices to “cover” Uber’s cost. Thus, Uber is telling restaurants that they must eat the cost and lose money or we won’t deliver for you.

Based on the average profit margins above, every restaurant that engages Uber Eats will lose money on every order they take. The more orders coming from Uber Eats, the more money a restaurant would lose.

On the other side of the phone, you will have to pay a “booking fee” for your delivery that is also being paid directly to Uber. Thus, Uber is getting its cake and eating it too.

Why Uber Eats Will Eat You Into Bankruptcy

Uber’s argument is that by gaining new customers through their app, then restaurants would gain a profit from the long-term business of the person making the order. This is great in theory, but it’s unlikely in practice. Assuming that they order again from the restaurant, it is likely that they’d just order through Uber Eats again making the restaurant just lose more money.

Agreed, I don't buy this works in practice. I've been turned off from ordering from several restaurants based on how bad the delivery food is. Why am I going to go take a date to sit down in yoru restaurant with the delivery food is trash?

only certain restaurants do it right, if you sign up for these apps and your food is good/popular you have to be prepared for a shytload of orders especially on weekends, but most restaurants are slow or fukk up the orders :manny:

shyt is TRASH. :scust:

I order a lot especially on the weekends if I’ve got company. I got on the wave maybe a year ago and I’ve slowly seen first the quantity of food you get drop, playing games using different food carriers with smaller compartments, etc.

Finally, the quality has gone to shyt. It’s like they’re giving you food they scrapped off someone’s plates who didn’t finish eating. Stale chips, cold food, really small quantities, and the prices have gone WAY up.

I swore it off after this week, but then I even called in an order from my favorite breakfast joint, even the takeout now is the same bullshyt small quantities that they were just peddling to DoorDash/GrubHub before :scust:

Heard an NPR radio story about how these companies are charging restaurants a big premium and now restaurants are responding by shorting the customer.

I don’t know where this is going, but it won’t be good. I don’t even want to eat at any of these restaurants anymore the quality is so low :scust:
Fix your own food, lazy muddafukka. :scust:

Breakfast delivered, as opposed to being served hot off your own stove? :scust:

Food prepared by cacs and delivered by some dusty weedhead who’s perfected a means of tasting your food without you knowing? :scust:
