Don't you feel its just beyond obvious that an Intelligent Designer created all this?

But why even throw God into the mix? It adds absolutely NOTHING to the discussion at hand. All it does is make people feel slightly better about their beliefs. You can't disprove something that isn't even provable in the first place.

For me it's not about "god" people spend so much time trying prove/disprove god that both sides ignore sound logic to make their opinion work. Like I said before NOBODY knows the truth. A creator does not have to be god or even conscious. We have this thought of "god" in our head from religion but in my opinion IF there is a creator we couldn't even fathom it's role or scope in regards to the universe.

Sure. It doesn't. As long as there are gaps in our knowledge, there are going to be people who want to fill that gap with Jeebus. It's no different than people attributing lightning to Zeus throwing lightning bolts to Earth. If you want to subscribe to that train of thought, then fine, that is your right. But you must realize that your position holds no weight.

It's not about filling the gaps with jeebus. I didn't say they should be. You guys are so bent on bashing religion that your just as closed minded as the religious people you bash. Untill somebody knows for sure, NOBODY knows for sure. If you get to the end of time and find out your wrong then what? Whose gonna be better off, those that kept an open mind and tried to LEARN or those who called others idiots for having a different opinion?

We know some truths, through science. There are things that science hasn't explained yet though. Atheists are always the ones willing to say "I don't know" its the religious folks that talk in absolution.

See all you can do is try to compete and prove who's right or wrong. Step beyond that, enlighten yourself stop picking sides and LEARN.

im pretty sure that for every "perfect" planet, thats "perfectly" placed within our galaxy, there are literally hundreds of thousands of planets that are just there for seemingly no reason.

whos to say somewhere out there, theres a planet thats placed in a position for life to grow.

universe is far from perfect

This is my question to those that think there is too much complexity in the universe for it not to be designed by some designer:

When you look up at the clouds, and you notice one resembles a duck or a car or whatever... do you conclude that a being must have designed that cloud? Why else would it look like a dinosaur, right? Or is it because our brains automatically look for patterns?

See, I agree that the universe seems ordered, but you cannot make a conclusion about the cause of said order, especially when it runs contradictory to the evidence we have. Darts, you already admitted you, and scientists don't know, so why jump to a conclusion as if you do know?

The thing is there are countless tangible processes that have structure and order, and are not some figment of our imaginations.

I'm not jumping to any conclusions....just expressing my opinion on something that seems obvious to me. :yeshrug:

The order isn't the figment of your imagination. Your interpretation of why that order exists is.

:what: I'm not on a side. Seriously, when I'm not on this forum a religious thought doesn't even pass through my head. Only when it is introduced by some outside force does it ever come across my mind. I love learning about what Science has revealed to us, not some 2000 year old book full of myths and allegory.

again, there are a few different conversations going on in here. some people dont believe there is order in the universe... while some believe there is order but not necessarily a "designer"... and some believe there is both order and a designer. but right now its a clusterfukk so we need to get some clarity... lets start with the definitons.

first and foremost does everyone agree with these definitions, have these three terms been defined accurately?

and if so, are we ALL in agreement that out of these definitions, that 'order' best describes our universe?

cha·os/ˈkāäs/

Complete disorder and confusion.
Behavior so unpredictable as to appear random, owing to great sensitivity to small changes in conditions.

or·der/ˈôrdər/

ran·dom/ˈrandəm/
Adjective:
Made, done, happening, or chosen without method or conscious decision: "a random sample of 100 households".
Governed by or involving equal chances for each item.
