You're paying too much attention to the debates and cable news networks. Most people aren't paying attention. I haven't watched a single republican debate. From afar, Trump looks even appealing to me - just based on man, a$$hole, tribal bullshyt. Of course I would never vote based on that, unfortunately you cant say the same for most people.
Elaborate on how Trump looks appealing to you...

The most intriguing thing with Trump is i wonder who he would select as his running mate. That is what is befuddling me.

I keep thinking it will be someone very adept with foreign policy to show people there will be someone to help with that aspect who fear he knows nothing of it but then I think to myself he knows he has to win with some minority vote to be able to win and may end up picking some kind of minority.

Colin Powell :ohhh:

:lolbron:

I don't think Powell would support him. Gut feeling.

This is VERY difficult to figure out :patrice: I wanna say Ben Carson with the older white folks feeling safe with him being so reserved and humble and with a low voice and not as vocal as President Obama. But Trump already kind of has it locked up with these older white folks, alot of times the key with vice presidents is to have someone that can appeal to a group of people you do not appeal as well with.

Like how Clinton had a "serious intellectual" for people who may have been clowning him for being too Hollywood and flashy while he was running. Obama picking Biden, someone with decades of experience in politics for those who said he was too inexperienced, and also to butter up the middle of the belt white folks who feared Obama would be like Malcolm X. To select someone they all know as if he is their grandfather(Biden).

Trump man...I can't think of someone :damn:

I was just kidding breh because Colin Powell would fit those criteria perfectly. I have no idea who Trump would even pick. A lot of his campaign rhetoric is about how inefficient and stupid government is, so it couldn't be a Washington insider. Otherwise Rubio would be good. He definitely needs help with hispanics and and foreign policy. Don't know if there are any notable hispanic Generals lol. Whoever it is, it needs to be someone serious who knows their foreign policy inside out though, as you said.

do you think there is any chance the gerry mandering that helped them win the 2014 midterms could help then win the presidential race? i honestly see my fellow young peers all sitting out the 2016 election...

I would not rule out him selecting some Jewish person as a way to galvanize Jewish voters who have normally been Democratic

I've heard of Republican plans to alter some of the electoral college rules, but I'm not sure if they'll pass or have enough of an effect tbh. I do think young people will be sitting this one out. No young person is rushing to support Clinton or anyone on the right. Although if Bernie gets the nom, it's possible his policies on college debt will inspire youth support.

I'm not sure about Trump's Jewish numbers, but there is a schism between Zionists and left-leaning Jews that I don't see being bridged, especially by Trump. Republicans are committed to the Zionists but the majority are left-leaning, hence the Dem dominance of the Jewish vote.

presidential and senate elections are immune to gerrymandering, only applies to congressional races.
