Lonzo was going top 3 regardless, he was hyped by everyone not just magic. I read some rumors that magic actually wanted Fox. Lonzo bombed the first workout so bad that they had to get him back for another. Even Celtics originally wanted Josh Jackson over Tatum but JJ wouldn’t meet with them lol.

honestly the 3 times we had the #2 pick, they weren't transcendent players from the jump. that could have changed everything. wouldn't have to give up the whole farm for AD. BI took time, Lonzo and DLo weren't and are not #2 pick worthy
