I just don’t get it with Nunn. I never heard of a dude missing an entire year because of a bone bruise. Either there’s more to that injury than the’re letting on or dude is just soft as fukk

Having an injury doesn't make you "soft".

The issue with bone bruises is that sometimes they're on load-bearing parts of the knee and don't heal unless you get the load off of them. And even then they heal slowly.


"Another reason to diagnose early is that bone bruises are painful and require a delay in return to running or sport. The bone has a rich nerve supply, as anyone who has ever broken a bone can testify. The pain serves a very useful protective function, limiting your ability to run after the injury until such time as the bone and ligament heal. The bone bruise itself simply requires unloading (using a moon boot and crutches) to heal. Healing time varies between 6 weeks to 2 years depending on exactly what you have done (you don’t usually need the boot and crutches for more than 2-6 weeks of this period)."


Basically you can't compare one bone bruise to any other, they're all different. It's possible Nunn didn't do a good job of keeping weight off the knee while he was rehabbing or it's possible he's just really unlucky with the position of the injury.

Head-to-head is 2-2. They're in different divisions. So it goes to conference record, and Spurs have a much better conference record. Lakers have to finish with a better record or they're out, it can't end in a tie.

FWIW they already lost the season series to the Pelicans so they can't finish in a tie with them either. That loss where they blew the 20-point lead really might have sunk them.

Then I guess dude must have have the most severe bone bruise in NBA history. The average time missed in the league for a Bone bruise is 2 weeks. This nikka been gone since the preseason. Embiid with his degenerate knees went down with a Bone bruise and came back 8 games later. If Nunn’s bruise is that bad he needs to see some specialists or something because it’s absolutely ridiculous that he missed a whole season because of it

You can't go with average because a weight-bearing bone bruise is completely different from a non-weight bearing bone bruise. Lamar Jackson just had a bone bruise and was out the rest of the season. A couple years ago Lonzo had a bone bruise and couldn't play for 2.5 months (but that was mostly offseason). But yeah, 6 months on a bone bruise is the longest I can remember.
