Westbrook is on his fourth team in four years and is an absolutely awful fit next to Bron. Ya'll will learn soon enough though.

Buddy was going for Kuzma and KCP only. Would have kept our pick, etc. Buddy is just a better fit even if he struggles to shoot. Russ has been one of the worst players in playoffs the past few years, theres just no denying that. Even if he picks it up like he does in middle of year, why do we have so much faith in him in playoffs?



I guess this is the main reason but I am just looking from a all healthy team perspective and on that roster, he just isn't a good fit. The best trade would have been Lowry last deadline, would have solved so many problems at once since we let go of Dennis for nothing either.

If AD was a shooter like KAT, I would have more faith but AD is a very inconsistent/mediocre shooter overall and then on top of that he still doesn't want to play the 5.

But I been said the best pgs that work with Bron are the ones who can play off ball..can shoot and create their own shot. Going all the way back to Mo Williams. And there’s a reason why Kyrie crazy ass had the best chemistry with Bron out of all his sidekicks. It’s why Lowry would have been amazing with Bron…he doesn’t need to ball and he’s a deadeye shooter. Stylistically Russ is literally the worst fit out of any pg in the league alongside Bron…probably even in history. Thats why I was bugged out that Bron would actually wanna play with this dude.

Russ can’t afford to start slow like he did last year tho…he’s not flying under the radar in LA like he was in Washington. If he’s trash even through 10 games he’s gonna be in that pressure cooker

However, when Bron isn't on the floor, RUSS has to be. That is blatantly obvious. And not with Rondo. Wtf is Vogel thinking there?

I think the Russ fit will be figured out. The defense is a bigger concern to me. But we also not 100% and it was the first game of the year so that’ll prolly improve too.

Kinda making me wish we had kept Caruso tho. Him and AB would’ve had us covered.

All in all, there were some positives to take away from this game(Bron/AD look good, Bradley looked good etc) and I think we'll continue to get better. Vogel needs to do better with his rotations. His rotations sucked in the playoffs, and I'm worried that this is a real issue with him

Actually might’ve been good to keep Kieff.

I’m definitely convinced now that we shoulda kept Gasol if we was gon have lineups like this. He at least was a threat from long range. Perfect compliment for AD. We coulda still got washedre if it was that important to klutch gang.

On another note, I’m glad the crowd showed Melo big love when he got in the game. I really want to see him get his ring. I hate that AI chose to not join the 09-10 team but we got Artest a ring.

I still want us to get Rose a ring somehow so maybe if he sees the kinda love that Melo gets off the strength he’ll realize that GOAT stanchise appreciates real brehs in the league.

Man Melo missed so many defensive rotations last night. They were directly leading to open 3's. Vogel gonna have to talk to him because he is being lazy.

Russ is generally unplayable at the highest levels as a member of teams since his shooting left him. If it's just Russ and shooters sure he might get you to 40 wins...but that's it.

Westbrook can still be a beast but only in the right matchup. The best use of Westbrook is to surround him with four shooters, spread the floor and let him attack the basket. Lebron will need to come off the ball more if they want to get the most out of Westbrook. If Westbrook isn’t the primary ball handler he’s of no use.

Bron showed a lot with that jumper last night. I think he can play off ball. He won’t be perfect but I think it’s doable.
