There is clear discrimination of Haitians in DR. Unfortunately my friend made it a point to ask every person who she thought was Haitian if they were. She was spot on every time. They were always honest but you got the clear feeling that it was not something they wanted to talk about especially around Dominicans.

I wasnt trying paint the whole population. What I said was general sentiment. Cause political correctness aside we all know peoples have certain biases and opinions towards other groups. For example we all know the 'old school' sentiment of West Indians towards American blacks. Ive spoken to many Africans that have their general opinions towards Western blacks.
But the bolded is what I was asking. Because that is what I know, but i was just asking to see if I just witnessed a corrupt few that by no means is an accurate representation.

But people have to understand there's a very nasty history between the two countries. And at one point Haiti dominated most of the island and did their share of vile shyt.
I honestly wish they would get along. They have more in common than people might think.
That said, the history of the dominican republic and haiti is a lot more than just black people.
There were slaves brought from Africa, India, Europe and other islands in the area.
To say that Dominicans are just "black" completely disregards the Taino, Carib and Arawak natives.
But people have to understand there's a very nasty history between the two countries. And at one point Haiti dominated most of the island and did their share of vile shyt.
