No I did not,
I did not know the language...when I lived in St. Croix, they hate Dominicans...I couldn't speak english...when I was in school I tried my hardest not to "act" Dominican or hang around them because they would jump you just for the hell of it. the only thing that safe me was my cousin (he was a known bad ass) and my maternal grandfather last name which is known in those islands (I carry both my dad and mother last name).

when I came to the US same bullshyt in Orlando...my friends were Black...my break dancing crew was Black and Latino and one vietnamese dude...

I didn't want to hangout with Dominicans or majority Latinos going to school so that I wouldn't get bullied...it forced me to learn the language faster than a muhfukka too...plus...Latinos didn't know I was Dominican until I start speaking in Spanish...I have a story about that but thats not why we here.

but If I was to doing it all over again, I would stand up for myself instead of trying to hide my identity...as a teenager I guess you just trying to fit in.

I don't run in that circle nor do I know anyone in DC from those ethnicity...my circle is Black Americans and Latinos sprinkled with "others" every now and then.

one time a cab driver Ethiopian ...asked me where I'm from and I asked him why he asked (I knew where he was trying to get at cause I get ask this question a lot...mind you there is nothing ambiguous about me) he said cause I don't look like I'm Black American...I told him where I'm from and he started to make jokes and how he had Dominican friends and they all cool and he loves the food. :yeshrug:

....so are you black?

That's because in the north east it'd be extremely foolish to side with cacs

You're correct about western States and that's because whites are the majority.

All of those south of the border and island Latino rats are opportunistic. They're black and side with blacks when convient and side with cacs and have "European ancestry" when convient

Not trying to :cape: but African Americans and Puerto Rican communities in the Northeast states have a long historic relationship. Not some "kumiyah" crap, but a "mutual understanding" if I make sense. This is not the same case for Mexicans or other Central Americans; especially in the western states like Cali, Arizona and western Texas.

But opportunistic I can agree on. But as for latinos in the Northeast siding with white gangs in the prison system. I highly doubt it when those latinos themselves are discriminated against especially the PR's and Dominicans in NYC. Who are constanlt called "spics" by many whites. But again I am not saying there is some kumiyah thing going on, but just mutual understanding.

Almost all Africans are brown to dark skin, similar to Haitians. In the Carribean all the earliest slave paintings show brown to dark skin black people.

Africans come in all shades of brown, nobody is saying they arent one shade or the other, but i'm pretty sure nobody on this site has enough proof to say majority are even one particular shade.

Do your parents talk more favorably of white people than blacks or vice-versa?

From your other answers, you're most likely a mixed kid who identifies as black when it's convenient (i.e., for street cred and social culture).

and i sympathize breh i really hate any kind of discrimination or blind hate. shyt i stopped seeing a barber because he was a hateful homophobe who even after i told him i got a gay cousin, proceeded to tell me they should all be killed. its disgusting and i wish humans werent like that, including dominicans. my only point is that we are NOT all like that so its a little fukked up to have people attack all of us for the actions of the supremely stupid.
I hear you and Im not saying they are all like that. But in general there tend to be an anti-haitian sentiment over there. I told you many times i have a chick i used to fukk with (still do) who is Dominican. She's a bank manager in Miami. We link up every time i go to Miami and fukk around. It started as just a fukk thing and evolved into a friendship and we've been close since. Been friends for 17 years now (since 98)

Anyway, i have met her parents they were cool (they dont know we're fukking). Her brother was cool too. But one time she introduced me to her cousins and homies was cool at first until they found out i was Haitian and i immediately noticed a change in the way they were around me.

This is why she's always asking me to take her to Haiti with me and im like cool no problem but when she asks me to come to DR with her and im like nah no thanks. :whoa:

No it is not. Im sure you would like it to be past that so you can get the spotlight off of racist Domonicans lol.

Take off that cape b.

The OP was just an article. This thread is a wildfire...it can go in any direction.

@gonzo8402 , native Dominicans are mostly racist. No amount of :cape: or deflecting will diminish that fact.

I've had countless Dominican friends admit that their native people are racist. My line brother's fiancee told me that her family HATES Haitians and have only just began to tolerate my line brother as her fiancee (and future son in law).

You attempting to dismiss Dominicans' collective racism is laughable at best and tragic in fact.

But what's racism?

Isn't that a black/white type of hate?

I've already given the examples in history that more align with the situation over there...some Dominicans may hate Haitians, but it isn't because of their race necessarily.

It's cultural... Many countries of the same race split in two because of distinct cultures living within their boundaries

Funny thing is, with all that shyt that they are doing with Haitians, I thought that you can at least denounce the actions of those particular racist Dominicans. I came from a Jamaican family and despite my pops looking damn near white, he would CURSE THE fukk OUT anyone that called him a white man or a Hispanic. He came from a time period in Jamaica where they got independence and Black Power movement was strong in Jamaica, on top of him and my mother talking about the likes of Marcus Garvey. My pops can be one of the "model" people in the DR, but he refuses to be acknowledge anything but a black Jamaican. He sees self hatred as a disease.

DC is filled with Africans and they are in particularly, they can't call themselves outside of their nationality and being black. They know that and they have strong connections to their roots. They don't see themselves as a part of the major society and they do their thing. Some Dominicans, sadly, can't see that. They see Spain as the motherland and they have overwhelming amount of white faces in the Dominican history.

when i say public services im not talking about welfare. im talking about things like education and health. these services are barely enough for dominicans and in some places virtually non-existent.
That has more to do with Leonel plundering the ministry of educations fund to build the Metro, the government not spending the 4% of the Budget on education as is demanded in the constitution, government officials lining their pockets, hippolito bailing out baninter so rich folks wouldn't lose their deposits, a tax system that benefits the rich and countless other shyt than with haitian immigration. As I said, haitians are merely a scapegoat for the ruling class to keep a fukket up system in place.
