I hear you and Im not saying they are all like that. But in general there tend to be an anti-haitian sentiment over there. I told you many times i have a chick i used to fukk with (still do) who is Dominican. She's a bank manager in Miami. We link up every time i go to Miami and fukk around. It started as just a fukk thing and evolved into a friendship and we've been close since. Been friends for 17 years now (since 98)

Anyway, i have met her parents they were cool (they dont know we're fukking). Her brother was cool too. But one time she introduced me to her cousins and homies was cool at first until they found out i was Haitian and i immediately noticed a change in the way they were around me.

This is why she's always asking me to take her to Haiti with me and im like cool no problem but when she asks me to come to DR with her and im like nah no thanks. :whoa:

yea but see what u said. even tho u dark skinned(im assuming) they was cool with u UNTIL they found out u haitian. so how would that make it a racial thing? there is definitely a lot of anti-hatian feelings in DR i would never deny it but to say its totally based on race is wrong. if haiti was full of poor asians and everything else was the same dominicans would still be treating them like that. and if haiti was a rich country with oil money or something ya wouldnt be able to get the dominicans out of haiti and we would be the ones getting deported. its not purely a skin color thing.

yeah sure that's why you put it out there

i was asked a question and i answered it :dahell:

Funny thing is, with all that shyt that they are doing with Haitians, I thought that you can at least denounce the actions of those particular racist Dominicans. I came from a Jamaican family and despite my pops looking damn near white, he would CURSE THE fukk OUT anyone that called him a white man or a Hispanic. He came from a time period in Jamaica where they got independence and Black Power movement was strong in Jamaica, on top of him and my mother talking about the likes of Marcus Garvey. My pops can be one of the "model" people in the DR, but he refuses to be acknowledge anything but a black Jamaican. He sees self hatred as a disease.

DC is filled with Africans and they are in particularly, they can't call themselves outside of their nationality and being black. They know that and they have strong connections to their roots. They don't see themselves as a part of the major society and they do their thing. Some Dominicans, sadly, can't see that. They see Spain as the motherland and they have overwhelming amount of white faces in the Dominican history.

To your first part, you don't know how I was raised...so you making a lot of assumptions. I have never said that I condone the mistreatment or racism against Haitians.

to your second part, I don't really care what about how other identify as...so its whatever to me...mmmkay!

The article is important/ You avoidance of it is interesting.

Never mind him. You won't get an honest answer out of him. You notice how he and a couple other Dominicans are refusing to condemn the actions of the racist Dominicans in OP's article and are deflecting every which way in an attempt to remove the focus from the undoubtedly and unequivocally racist acts towards Haitian immigrants that have sadly become all-too-common in the DR. These Dominic00ns would rather utilize mental gymnastics, engage in revisionist history and use Sammy Sosa's skin-lightening cream instead of ever admitting that they are black.

That has more to do with Leonel plundering the ministry of educations fund to build the Metro, the government not spending the 4% of the Budget on education as is demanded in the constitution, government officials lining their pockets, hippolito bailing out baninter so rich folks wouldn't lose their deposits, a tax system that benefits the rich and countless other shyt than with haitian immigration. As I said, haitians are merely a scapegoat for the ruling class to keep a fukket up system in place.

and i agree. i think our anger needs to be turned more towards corrupt politicians than haitians. but it doesnt change the fact that we can barely support ourselves as it is so some kind of immigration act had to be passed. as for that 1929 shyt, yea i call bullshyt on that. its fukked up as hell.

The U.S. ....specifically, the AA community loves to talk about how Haitians rights being violated in DR etc...why don't you march and propose AMNESTY to Haitians so that they can come to the U.S. that way you can kumbaya along with them and end their suffering? :ohhh:

Truth be told Many Black Americans dislike Haitians too. We need to stop that.

I barely ever saw any hate of Dominicans in St. Croix :comeon:

The closest I saw was some tension between Peurto Ricans and Dominicans.

A puerto rican chick even rejected me cuz she thought I was dominican.

As for black people and dominicans I rarely saw beef.
