Kendrick 3 Nas 1.

TPAB was a masterpiece and GKMC definitely has the makings of a classic too. And to me overall musically Section 80 hit all the marks. It has hella replay value, sonically it's Kendricks best album and was as thoughtful and impactful as any of his other projects but it doesn't have the thematic presentation of GKMC or TPAB.

Verdict is out on DAMN

Illmatic is undeniable but stillmatic? Naw. IWW is tricky it didn't leave the greatest impression on me personally but definitely had impact tracks and that album solidified Nas at the time.

I asked that too stop hiding your hands cornball

Kendrick has had more moments in the culture than Nas did if we're being honest.

Nas had:Jay z beef

KTT nikkas gotta throw shade at other artists to prop up your hero. Real nikkas can appreciate both without throwing dirt on other rappers name. And no your back handed compliments don't count:nawnikka:

Okay:mjlol:

But on another note I was thinking to myself a few days ago how The Coli felt about Stillmatic being called a classic

Stillmatic Intro
Got Ur Self A Gun
Ether
You're Da Man
One Mic
Rewind
2nd Childhood
Destroy And Rebuild
What Goes Around

It had some powerful songs on there I can't lie, but I understand why people would say it isn't a classic. Still, I feel like 9 out of 14 songs would be a classic album for anyone else but Nas is a high caliber rapper so people may look at that as just a great album

I'll keep it simple. Nas is vastly superior (not just superior, but vastly superior) to Kendrick in every single way. Let me repeat: every single way. Any metric you can judge a rapper by, even the most random one, Nas is superior to Kendrick tenfold.

If you can't see this obvious fact, you're not a hip hop fan. You should come back to us when you actually appreciate the genre, instead of dikkriding one or two artists because they're closer to your pop tastes. :salute:
has nas carried out a consistent and coherent narrative throughout an entire album like GKMC?

First of all, that's like asking me who has the best cinematography. It's a weird ass question because it doesn't fit with the medium we're discussing.

Hip hop albums aren't supposed to be one grand narrative through an entire album and we don't pride the albums on that shyt. Also, and more importantly, GKMC doesn't have a consistent and coherent narrative either. It's an album with random ass tracks struggle-threaded together by skits (which do the heavy lifting).

:jbhmm: So who is?

Rocky. It's not even close.

But my point is more along the lines of: "Don't fall for paid critics who force this idea of Kendrick being unquestionably better than everyone else so they can quickly shoehorn him into the goat convo" when in fact there is no consensus on Kendrick being the best in this era. It's weird as fukk how paid critics and rosenbergs straight up skip past the fact that Kendrick aint the best in his own era.

I think Rocky shyts on Kendrick in every way. Some might think Drake shyts on Rocky in every way. These things are arguable as long as a good argument is presented.
