Ok how bout this. Nas just dropped 4 albums within a span of 2 years better than an album Kendrick took 5 years to make. Yet Kendrick still won a Grammy off that shyt. Lol. Its a joke.
Kendrick’s album was on par with Nas’s projects, it’s not as accessible given the subject matter, but I have zero problem with Mr Morale winning a Grammy. :manny:

Not at all. Hit me when Kendrick dropping elite shyt at 50. Kendrick don't even got the amount of music Nas has. On top of that. Nas dropped 4 albums in a row better than Kendricks last effort.

I mean in they prime. Nas has more albums but he has a lot more duds in his catalog. Kendrick has less content but is more consistent. That’s why I say they on the same level

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
You don’t know what you’re talking about, I was an early cole fan from the come up and warm up days, riding for him long before I even heard a Kendrick project and I was like one of the few riding for the KOD album :dead: I shyt on cole’s inability to make good music at times, don’t confuse critique and not being a stan with dislike. Cole also only put out 6 albums in this time, he did give us three label compilations tho, something TDE lacked

Kendrick is not the same type of artist as drake, drake is a volume shooter so no point of binging him up

I don’t feel Kendrick is overrated, people do too much in over analyzing everything he does, and those are two separate issues. A lot of people (of a certain age) have an implicit bias against considering anyone who debuted in the 10’s as a top 10 talent, which leads to a lot of pure hate or pushback against Kendrick, it is what it is. Drake too (I’d never consider him top 10 but I see why when taking everything about being an artist into consideration some people would)
Maybe I have u confused with someone else with the Cole shyt because I clearly remember u saying u can't get into Cole no matter how hard u try. Kendrick got a pulitzer prize for DAMN. Not overrated? TPAB is the highest rated hip hop album of all time. Not overrated? Son is a media darling. nikkas ain't even fukk wit Mr Morale like that and the nikka still won a Grammy off that shyt. Lol

They aren't. Nas has better albums than Kendrick. He has a better music catalog. They aren't even. Kendrick would never get compared to Jay but Jay and Nas are synonymous with each other even tho Jay has just as many duds. nikkas just feel more comfortable tryna compare nikkas to Nas.

Beyond the music Nas has a lot of legendary moments in hip hop kinda like MJ does, that's part of the mystique. Kendrick don't have a lot of those. End of discussion
This is some BS intangibles espn talk. Mystique is gone due to the completely different worlds the 90’s-early 00’s was compared to the late 00’s and 10’s. Cameras everywhere, social media, the devaluing of music, and accessibility of celebrities changed a lot of stuff, plus simply being an adult, things don’t aww you or carry the same grandeur as being a kid/teen/college age

I have never said that about cole…

you’re literally bringing in shyt people in hip hop (music fans in general) don’t care about in regards to the music. Hip hop is bigger and more accepted than it ever was, a lot of outside forces looking in, I’m a huge fan of Kendrick and couldn’t care less about that shyt, has nothing to do with music

And Kendrick Lamar Tops Spotify’s Most-Streamed Rap Albums Of 2022 Chart

:ld:

Plenty of people fukked with Mr Morale but it was not an everyday spin for a lot of people, me included. Great album, but it ain’t some shyt you throw on whenever, big difference between being something you intentionally listen to and not fukking with an album

This isn't sports. It's not a competition. There is no scoreboard. There is zero objective way of comparing artists, nor is there a need to.

If they were battling or trading diss tracks then maybe there's be a point, but what's the point of this discussion, seriously? Nas and Kendrick came in two completely different eras, from different backgrounds, with different career trajectories, different ways of making albums, different purposes to their music, and aren't in a competition with each other.

Why not just figure out what you personally enjoy and look for more of that, instead of arguing for 20 pages with people who happen to enjoy something different? You aren't even arguing over the merits of a particular song, you're just mired in these vague-ass discussions of career legacy for people in two entirely different stages of their careers.

For the record, Nas and Kendrick are two of my five favorite artists of all time. But other people only have one of them, and that's fine.
