Does Kendrick have more classics than Nas?

Let me say this.

When u talk 90s rappers, a lot of u new age cats only talk albums. Mainly because most new age rappers especially Kendrick only really have albums to judge off.

90s acts like Nas, Jay, BIG, LOX etc body of works span wayyyyy past just albums.

You can't mention a Nas and not include his mixtape catalog. I am talking Clue and Kay Slay exclusives.

You can't mention Biggie and not include his extensive unforgettable r&b features.

So to me, there is a deeper dynamic in comparing todays artists vs 90s rappers.

Putting a Nas catalog vs a K.Dot, if you really listen to all the material out there, no way can Kenny have a catalog that matches Nas. Rappers back then may have dropped less albums over a period of time, but were active on mixtapes, group projects (i.e. The Firm, Junior Mafia etc) and features. As someone else said already, compare this man to his peers now. Because it is a whole different game at this point, especially with streaming, less wait time on albums etc.

The true sign of an all time great emcee is when their discography is so packed with lyrically dense and technically impressive quotables that even the ones you forget due to the sheer quantity are more impressive than other's nikkas absolute best shyt.

Kendrick is a great artist and an impressive rapper but his skill set is more focused on constructing great songs and cohesive bodies of work than impressive on individual lines are even bars. It's a gift and a drawback at the same time IMO. I love his storytelling ability, but I absolutely refuse to cite someone as the best rapper if they can't consistently blow me away with top notch lyricism.

Nas, Jay, 3k, Lupe...even new school dudes like Joey Bada$$ do that regularly. Kendrick...once in a blue moon

I'll keep it simple. Nas is vastly superior (not just superior, but vastly superior) to Kendrick in every single way. Let me repeat: every single way. Any metric you can judge a rapper by, even the most random one, Nas is superior to Kendrick tenfold.

If you can't see this obvious fact, you're not a hip hop fan. You should come back to us when you actually appreciate the genre, instead of dikkriding one or two artists because they're closer to your pop tastes.
