The third white woman to headline a superhero movie in 2 years if you count the Wasp, meanwhile Blade and Black Panther were nearly 20 years apart. :mjpls: also the only movies with black female leads, that aren't wearing green makeup to cover their complexions.

tell them we're saving our money for black girls.

also if you count starwars as a superhero movie, this is like the 5th white woman to headline one of these movies in the past 4 years. Seems to me like white woman are doing just fine.

This story made my Friday for some reason. :obama:

#CaptainMarvelChallenge: Frederick Joseph is raising money to send girls to see film - CNN

Last year, his #BlackPantherChallenge raised enough money to send 73,000 children of color to see "Black Panther."

This year, his #CaptainMarvelChallenge hopes to do the same for girls with Marvel Studios' first female-led film, "Captain Marvel."
But Frederick Joseph said he isn't sure the campaign to help young girls will receive as much support as the one for black boys did.
"I was hoping this would receive more traction than the last challenge," the New York marketer told CNN.

Even an endorsement from the movie's star, Brie Larson, didn't seem to move the needle on the challenge's GoFundMe page.
"We did see some more donations from her support, but not as many as we would have hoped for," Joseph said. "I think there's a larger conversation to be had around how much support women receive and lack thereof."

Well you need to talk to OTHER women about that, because last I checked women have a lot of disposable income and their purchasing power dictates the marketplace.

With that being said, I look forward to watching the movie with my daughter and son.

The Truth
I hae no desire to see Captain Marvel other than the fact that it is a continuation of the Marvel universe so you watch it to understand the bigger plot Only thing I knew about her was Rogue got her powers from her
I might just watch the bootleg just to spite the white female girl power theyre about to try and spread
