I'm one of the guys that liked the show more as it went on. IMO S5/S4>S3>S2>>S1. Most of my personal meh eps are in season 1.

@PharaohAtem I'd suggest watching ang from episode 1 don't do the skipping everywhere thing. Yea there's some filler episodes but they're well done for the time 
Knock out some more Buffy but Angel was really well done and I've honestly enjoyed every season. Season 4 was PEAK especially with that certain character that starts handing out ass whoopings to the whole squad in their debut.

Season 4 was classic, I dunno what these cats are talking about.
The lead up to the Beast appearing.
Him beating the shyt out of everyone.
Finding out he's just a random goon for Jasmine.
The end of "Shiny Happy People".
Finding out what Jasmine really is, choosing to reveal it to the world, and damn near ending the world in the process.
C'mon man. I suggest anyone questioning the quality give it a rewatch.

Beast comes thru and is unstoppable, they have the bright idea to bring you-know-who back for hom yo become as big of a threat then cap it off with an uphill battle vs. a god on earth? Season had DBZ Namek Saga levels of intensity and desperation.

All this time, I thought I was alone in my love for Angel season 4. lol I understand having beef with the decisions made with
but they didn't bother me. The overall story felt bigger than ever. Epic af.

2=4>5>1>3
2 has better writing but I love 4 just as much if not more.

Season four was coo to me but nothing tops S5. Just too many goated episodes that I've watched over and over again. S5 Angel probably tops any season if Buffy as well.
The Angel vs Spike fight in season 5 might be the best fight in the series
