Joey Bada$$ did that 90s throwback tape back in 2012, I actually liked the tape. People shytted on Joey for that, talking bout he sounded too 90s.

Anyway, thing I don't get is, people complain all the time "oh I don't like today's music, it was so much better then :wow: " then they get it and still complain. People don't know what they want :mjlol:.

Your Aunty is only going to search but so far for music. She hears something she likes on the radio and she'll take it from there. I think the argument is there are huge amount of talented people that fit the criteria for radio play yet they never make it to the platform because in order to compile stats you have to use a label's ball. That's where the accusations start because if the label is consistently going for a specific thing then it's not a stretch to declare it an agenda. It's the same reason why affirmative action is a necessary thing but that's another topic
Who listens to the radio? My 80 year old grandfather streams music and like I told dude above, all streaming service have done great with recommending new artists. It's almost like yall are thinking about the past and trying to apply it to now, but music is a totally different world than it was 10-20 years ago.

His shyt is dope.

If rehashing ideas is a problem then we've got to reject 75% of all art.

I haven't heard where he copied or covered another song yet but I am far from being enough of a fan to pour over his shyt. I just hear stuff on the radio or w/e.

So if he's accused of sounding similar..

Wait til y'all hear my shyt. I rap but niqqas gonna be like "I remember this from 95" when I made it last year. (My style has never changed since that era so one might think I was trying to sound old school, but that's just my style.)
.

Prince put it best when he said he doesn't recreate. The job of an artist is to develop and move the art forward. That's why there'll never be another.

I'm just glad someone is making the music. Meanwhile in our community our kids think it's lame to learn how to play a fukking instrument. Where are our bands? Where is our funk?

Which may be why nobody has said "Play that new Prince" since 1992.

I find him inoffensive but yep his steady cherry picking certain 80s and 90s eras and sounds of black music and wholesale lifting them.

He does it well. As he can also play off his racial ambugity. Cant fault him for the hustle.

To many people this stuff probably sounds revolutionary and 'new'.

ain't no more black artist. get over it
all that dikk rider of wack rappers and hustlers of lyricist allowed for black music to be bottle necked into one box

There is no more black music, black music is basically strip club music now, there is no black music industry,
just a bunch of ignorant nikkaz with no talent hitting licks, because getting bag is all that matters

when drake career was ended after being exposed as a fraud, that told you right there it was a wrap

I can't even a name a young nikka who can sing for real

chris brown aint young no more, and he a rapper now, he not an R&B nikka

bruno mars killing it, he embarrassing nikkaz doing black music better than any black artist right now, and thats just the harsh reality

this is what happens when you don't stick to the roots and carry on tradition, and sell out

lil uzi vert the new leader of black music lmao

its a wrap

So yall hated Bruno when he made vanilla pop music, because it was bland

Now you hate him because he is making blacker pop music... better than the majority of black singers who are singing over trap beats and being extra vulgar

Instead of just enjoying the music y'all wanna nitpick about a non African, brown minority getting attention for making quality black music. He not black but he's not Justin Timberlake either. Tell CB, Trey Songs, August Alsina, etc to get a real band and make real RnB then you might have an argument.

He's not sampling, He's literally jacking from top to bottom. Even his concepts are not original.

Stupid response by a stupid individual.
But how is this any different than what Katy Perry, Adele, Christina Aguilera, Diana Krall and Timberlake do? All these motherfukkers capitalize off of black music and benefit from not being black because they appeal better to these white racist audiences. Why not just make a thread about all of them?

when they play throw back chris brown its the kiss kiss song with T Pain, the nikka is trash

Trey songs can't even sing, he a rapper, and august alsina is the poor man's version of him
