What do you mean?
R and Raphael making 90s/80s album r different since they were apart of created it opposed 2 a young buck who's last few singles have been "throwbacks" to sounds ready made for him decades prior.
What do you mean?
The people in charge of what?Yeah well the people in charge do so my original point stands
Who listens to the radio? My 80 year old grandfather streams music and like I told dude above, all streaming service have done great with recommending new artists. It's almost like yall are thinking about the past and trying to apply it to now, but music is a totally different world than it was 10-20 years ago.Your Aunty is only going to search but so far for music. She hears something she likes on the radio and she'll take it from there. I think the argument is there are huge amount of talented people that fit the criteria for radio play yet they never make it to the platform because in order to compile stats you have to use a label's ball. That's where the accusations start because if the label is consistently going for a specific thing then it's not a stretch to declare it an agenda. It's the same reason why affirmative action is a necessary thing but that's another topic
.His shyt is dope.
If rehashing ideas is a problem then we've got to reject 75% of all art.
I haven't heard where he copied or covered another song yet but I am far from being enough of a fan to pour over his shyt. I just hear stuff on the radio or w/e.
So if he's accused of sounding similar..
Wait til y'all hear my shyt. I rap but niqqas gonna be like "I remember this from 95" when I made it last year. (My style has never changed since that era so one might think I was trying to sound old school, but that's just my style.)
.
Prince put it best when he said he doesn't recreate. The job of an artist is to develop and move the art forward. That's why there'll never be another.
"He got a black band breh!!! "They're gonna hate you for this but yeah he's definitely got a gimmick.
Coli posters will just come back with "he's talented though"
But how is this any different than what Katy Perry, Adele, Christina Aguilera, Diana Krall and Timberlake do? All these motherfukkers capitalize off of black music and benefit from not being black because they appeal better to these white racist audiences. Why not just make a thread about all of them? He's not sampling, He's literally jacking from top to bottom. Even his concepts are not original.
Stupid response by a stupid individual.
So yall hated Bruno when he made vanilla pop music, because it was bland
Now you hate him because he is making blacker pop music... better than the majority of black singers who are singing over trap beats and being extra vulgar
Instead of just enjoying the music y'all wanna nitpick about a non African, brown minority getting attention for making quality black music. He not black but he's not Justin Timberlake either. Tell CB, Trey Songs, August Alsina, etc to get a real band and make real RnB then you might have an argument.
