I'm not saying there are NO black R&B artists making good music, but there's a shytload that's not right now. Right now, Bruno is on top. Every woman in my family and the rest that I associate with are constantly playing Bruno Mars, but of course they have the choice to play ANY artist they want that's making good music. Dude is just popping right now.

When Beyonce's or Rhianna's next album comes out and has a hot single with a nice concept then they will be on top...Music is music so I can give a fukk about race, but nikkas starting to get real weird with the turning everything into a racial thing

To act like there isn’t an agenda to push Black people out...is counterproductive.

You just named Beyoncé and Rihanna. It isn’t ironic to you that out of everybody, you could only name two Black singers that are poppin mainstream wise? That doesn’t bother you?

Dudes doesn't need any new ideas or creativity. All he does is jack Black music from the 80's and 90's.

How the fukk can your discography look like a throwback playlist?

I can see him calling Quincy Jones asking for some old Thriller throwaways sessions. On some "I'm a huge fan" shyt.

:patrice: uhhh....he just did this for his latest project, he damn sure didn't get to the level he's on now with this new jack swing sound.

There can be all the agendas in the world; The fact is people are listening to whatever they want to listen to. Are we not in 2018 and have a choice of what to listen to at all times?

nikka it's called an example. Am I supposed to list every single one? Those are the undoubtedly top black R&B artists.

True, but you gotta admit some of his shyt is dope.

My niece was playing Finesse, and i couldn't help but shake my azz.
New jack swing needs to make a comeback, asap.

It doesn’t need to come back. Nostalgia is a bytch. Most of that njs was garbage back then aside from Guy and Keith Sweat. Especially when it was rap music. Everybody forgets there was eventually a huge backlash against it in the hip hop community

In the words of the illustrious Ice Cube “you can new jack swing on my nuts”

Black artists don’t have the same label support behind them that these culture vultures do. You can’t blame people for not listening to the music and supporting it if they don’t know it’s there.

A lot of these artists are relegated to IG promotion. For people without social media, what are they suppose to do?

It’s called the Adele effect and I been saying this. A lot of these culture biting “crossover” artists are being pushed for a reason. Meanwhile, the Black artists making the same type of music get put on the back burner.

Your Aunty is only going to search but so far for music. She hears something she likes on the radio and she'll take it from there. I think the argument is there are huge amount of talented people that fit the criteria for radio play yet they never make it to the platform because in order to compile stats you have to use a label's ball. That's where the accusations start because if the label is consistently going for a specific thing then it's not a stretch to declare it an agenda. It's the same reason why affirmative action is a necessary thing but that's another topic

He's not sampling, He's literally jacking from top to bottom. Even his concepts are not original.

Stupid response by a stupid individual.

Sampling is not comparable to re-hashing. :comeon:

But you'd have a point if you kept it to pop music, which has always been just re-shoveled the same shyt over and over cuz it's 'new' to the young generation, so they'll eat it up.
The main arguments in the 90s was that hip hop was vulturing from the old school, not paying dues, and getting rich while original artists died impoverished. How is this any different from what you accuse Bruno Mars of?

I wish you nikkas would stop acting like there aren't black folks making music as good as Bruno. Labels choose the artist they get behind and its not a coincidence Timberlake, Thicke and Bruno get millions gambled on them in promotion money
They do choose to get behind whoever they want at the same time Bruno is established . How many established artists are going to take the that route.

Most of what you said is real shyt. But okay...people have all these streaming services and they ALL recommend artists based on what the user listens to. I've discovered so many good artists through streaming services, so how can you not blame the people? I pick and choose who I support. Who's fault is it that people see another person on the internet that's considered a "celebrity" and they feel they HAVE to listen to that person's music or follow them? To me that sounds insane.
